Gostisbehere signed a one-year, $4.15 million contract with Detroit on Saturday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports. Gostisbehere recorded 13 goals and 41 points in 75 contests between Arizona and Carolina last season. Although the 30-year-old defenseman has had an up-and-down career, Gostisbehere is capable of serving in a top-four role and being a major asset on the power play. He should be put in a position to succeed with the Red Wings.... See More ... See Less

Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Picks up two assists Friday
Gostisbehere recorded two assists in a 6-1 win over New Jersey in Game 2 on Friday. Gostisbehere was held off the scoresheet over the first seven contests of the 2023 playoffs. That's in stark contrast to the regular season, during which he contributed 13 goals and 41 points in 75 outings. His offensive production isn't helped by his limited role in the postseason -- going into Friday's action, he was averaging 16:08 of ice time. Even though Gostisbehere supplied two helpers in Game 2, he still logged just 15:54.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Launches five shots on net
Gostisbehere recorded five shots versus the Senators on Monday but failed to break out of his pointless streak. Gostisbehere is mired in an eight-game pointless streak on top of his 19-game goal drought. Since joining the Hurricanes, the 29-year-old blueliner has seen his point-per-game rate drop to .33 from the .59 he was averaging with Arizona. Still, Gostisbehere continues to see opportunities with the No. 1 power-play unit and figures to offer top-half fantasy value.... See More ... See Less -
Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Bags helper Saturday
Gostisbehere snapped a six-game pointless streak with an assist in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win against the Flyers. Gostisbehere's season has been derailed by injuries and inconsistency, and with just 36 points in 61 games, he is unlikely to approach the 51 points he recorded last year with the Coyotes. Still, Gostisbehere's a solid play going forward as long as he's healthy -- he continues to average more than 20 minutes per game (22:30 average TOI), including a generous helping of power-play minutes (3:02).... Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Gets three power-play points
Gostisbehere contributed a goal and two assists in Carolina's 6-0 victory over Tampa Bay on Sunday. All three of Gostisbehere's points were recorded while Carolina was on the power play, which brings him up to 14 points with the man advantage in 2022-23. He has 12 goals and 35 points in 54 contests this season. Gostisbehere has recorded three goals and six points over his last four outings, including two goals and four points over two contests since being acquired by Carolina from Arizona on Wednesday.... Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Scores in Hurricanes debut
Gostisbehere netted a power-play goal in Carolina's 6-1 victory over Arizona on Friday. Gostisbehere was making his Hurricanes debut after being acquired from Arizona on Wednesday. He logged 16:54 of ice time, including 1:26 with the man advantage, against his former team. Gostisbehere picked up 10 goals and 31 points in 52 contests with the Coyotes this season, but he averaged 22:30 of ice time per game with Arizona, including 3:02 on the power play before being traded. If Friday's contest is a good indication of how Carolina will use the 29-year-old, then Gostisbehere's offensive pace might decline due to his reduced role down the stretch.... See More ... Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Dealt to Hurricanes
Gostisbehere was traded to Carolina from Arizona on Wednesday in exchange for a third-round pick, per TSN's Chris Johnston. Gostisbehere has 10 goals, 31 points, 36 hits and 72 blocked shots while averaging 22:30 of ice time in 52 games with Arizona this season. He might play a smaller role with the Hurricanes, but he's likely to contribute to their power play, possibly as part of the second unit. The 29-year-old is in the final season of a six-year, $27 million contract and is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Earns helper Tuesday
Gostisbehere logged an assist, five shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks. Gostisbehere helped out on Nick Schmaltz's insurance tally in the third period. This was Gostisbehere's second straight game with a point after he came up empty in his first two outings back from an upper-body injury. The 29-year-old blueliner is at 10 goals, 21 assists, 115 shots on net, 72 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating through 52 contests. He hasn't sat out like some of the Coyotes' other potential trade candidates, but Gostisbehere could still be on the move before Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Nets shorthanded marker
Gostisbehere scored a shorthanded goal on four shots and blocked two shots in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Predators. The 29-year-old defenseman has 10 goals, 20 assists, 10 power-play points, two shorthanded tallies, 110 shots on net, 71 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating through 51 appearances.... See More ... Coyotes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Suiting up Sunday
Gostisbehere (upper body) is in Sunday's lineup against Columbus, Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reports. Gostisbehere is set to return from an eight-game absence. The veteran blueliner has nine goals and 29 points through 48 games on the year. He had just one assist with a minus-3 rating in his last eight games prior to getting injured.... See More ... Coyotes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Likely to play Sunday
Gostisbehere (upper body) is a game-time decision Sunday against the Blue Jackets, though he's likely to play, per Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports. Gostisbehere has a solid chance to return Sunday after missing eight games with an upper-body injury he suffered Jan. 24. The 29-year-old blueliner would likely return to Arizona's top defensive pair and power-play unit. Gostisbehere has nine goals and 20 assists in 48 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Won't play Saturday, might Sunday
Gostisbehere (upper body) will miss Saturday's game against Los Angeles, but he might play Sunday versus Columbus, Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reports. Gostisbehere was last in the lineup Jan. 24. He has nine goals and 29 points in 48 contests this season. With Gostisbehere unavailable Saturday, Victor Soderstrom might play in his fourth straight game.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Recovery ahead of schedule
Gostisbehere (upper body) won't be available versus the Lightning on Wednesday but is expected back within the next seven days, Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reports. Gostisbehere was originally expected to be out of action for 4-6 weeks due to his upper-body issue but instead could be ready to return in the coming days. With Jacob Chychrun's time in Arizona essentially over as he serves as a healthy scratch until he's traded, the Yotes could certainly use Gostisbehere, who has had a career revival with 80 points in 130 games for Arizona.... Coyotes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Will miss 4-6 weeks
Gostisbehere is expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks with an upper-body injury. This is a pretty big loss for the Coyotes and fantasy managers alike, as Gostisbehere has provided solid offensive production from the blue line this season, picking up nine goals, 29 points and 99 shots through 48 contests. Given the expected length of his absence, Gostisbehere will likely land on injured reserve in the coming days.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Ends drought with assist
Gostisbehere logged an assist, two shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Golden Knights. Gostisbehere put a six-game point drought to rest when he set up a Clayton Keller tally in the second period. Prior to this recent skid -- which looks a lot like one he had in November -- Gostisbehere had been a consistent scoring threat from the blue line. The 29-year-old is up to nine goals, 20 helpers, 98 shots on net, 65 blocked shots, 28 PIM and a minus-7 rating through 47 appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Two primary assists in loss
Gostisbehere recorded a pair of assists, four shots on goal, four blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Sharks. Gostisbehere set up both of the Coyotes' goals, with Barrett Hayton and Christian Fischer getting the tallies. Prior to Tuesday, Gostisbehere had hit his second rough patch of the year, going without a point in five straight games. The 29-year-old blueliner continues to provide high-end offense from the blue line with nine tallies, 19 helpers, 87 shots on net and a minus-5 rating through 40 contests. He's earned 10 of his points on the power play.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Grabs power-play helper
Gostisbehere notched a power-play assist, six blocked shots and two PIM in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Maple Leafs. Gostisbehere has a goal and two power-play helpers during his current three-game point streak. He's had four separate streaks of at least three-game point streaks since Nov. 23, so he's continued to regularly contribute on offense. The 29-year-old is up to nine tallies, 17 helpers, 10 power-play points, 73 shots on net, 47 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating through 34 contests.... See More ... See Less -
