In 38 games with Detroit last season, Hagg chipped in two goals, five assists, 40 shots on net, 47 blocked shots and 111 hits. Even if Hagg doesn't appear in the lineup on a regular basis in 2023-24, he will provide Anaheim with some depth on the back end.

Hagg opened the scoring Tuesday, scoring on a wrist shot with traffic in front of Darcy Kuemper. This goal is Hagg's first of the season and fourth point in 18 games. When in the lineup, Hagg should be expected to play on the bottom pairing for the Red Wings.

Hagg (head) is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season next Friday against the Canadiens, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Hagg returned to practice Friday morning, but the stay-at-home defenseman reportedly will be held out for the remainder of the preseason. Last season, Hagg deposited one goal, eight assists and 102 blocked shots through 64 games between the Sabres and Panthers. The Swede doesn't figure to play often enough to make an impact in fantasy circles.

Hagg managed just nine points in 64 games for the Sabres and Panthers last season, so fantasy players shouldn't be expected to offer much offensively out of the blueliner. Even once cleared to play, Hagg is far from guaranteed to break into the lineup with consistency and may find himself as a healthy scratch periodically.

Hagg left Sunday's scrimmage after he was struck by the puck in the back of his ear/head area.
Hagg exited the ice under his own power, but he was bleeding and appeared to be having some trouble. There was no update on his status following the match. Coach Derek Lalonde said that Hagg was still being evaluated.

Panthers' Robert Hagg: Dealt to Florida
Buffalo traded Hagg to the Panthers on Sunday in exchange for a 2022 sixth-round draft pick.
With Aaron Ekblad (lower body) being placed on long-term injured reserve earlier Sunday and expected to miss the rest of the regular season, the Panthers acquired another defensemen to shore up their blue-line depth. Hagg has produced 55 points in 284 career NHL contests, spent primarily with Philadelphia, and is best known for his physicality. The 27-year-old once amassed 258 hits and 158 blocks (2018-19) and will hit triple digits in both categories soon (97, 91 currently).
