Chartier signed a one-year, two-way contract with Ottawa on Saturday.
Chartier played six games with Ottawa last season, but he failed to hit the scoresheet over that span. Chartier did, however, have success at AHL Belleville last year, finding the back of the net 20 times and adding eight assists in 40 games.
