McDavid had a goal and four shots in Sunday's 5-2 Game 6 loss to the Golden Knights, which eliminated the Oilers from the Stanley Cup playoffs. After a historic regular season, McDavid was unsurprisingly one of the biggest stars of the postseason. He was held without a point in just two games while posting eight goals and 20 points in the other 10 games. Oilers' Connor McDavid: Scores twice in loss to Vegas
McDavid provided two goals in Edmonton's 4-3 loss to Vegas in Game 5 on Friday. This was the latest in a long line of elite performances from McDavid, who has seven goals and 19 points in 11 playoff outings this year. The power play has been instrumental in McDavid's offensive success during the postseason, and that trend continued Friday with both of his markers coming with the man advantage, bringing his total power-play points in the playoffs to 12. McDavid scored two power-play goals in Edmonton's 3-2 overtime loss to LA in Game 3 on Friday. The Kings were able to hold McDavid to just an assist over the first two contests of the 2023 playoffs, but the star forward can only be contained for so long. He was amazing during the regular season, providing 64 goals and 153 points in 82 outings, and should continue to find success in the playoffs. McDavid's efforts Friday couldn't save the Oilers though, so Edmonton is now trailing 2-1 in the first-round series, and will consequently be in a high-pressure situation in Game 4 on Sunday.... McDavid ended the regular season on a 16-game point streak, but it was promptly snapped in Game 1 on Monday. It's his third streak of at least 15 contests this season, which has helped fuel his outstanding campaign. Oilers' Connor McDavid: Hits lofty 150-point total
McDavid scored two goals and added an assist in a 6-1 win over the Sharks on Saturday. McDavid got his 150th point Saturday, becoming the first NHL player to score that many in almost 30 years. The last player to hit that mark was Mario Lemieux, who had 160 for the Penguins in 1995-96. McDavid came into Saturday's game with 148 and picked up an assist on a Ryan Nugent-Hopkins goal at 5:46 of the first. He then scored at 18:16 of the same frame to reach 150 before scoring again in the third. There may be some aging slide, but a healthy Kane will help offset that. 1/7
