While it's too soon to say where Hronek will slot in for the season, it's a safe bet he'll be a top-four option. He should also see time on the second power-play unit. Hronek is likely the best right-shot defenseman on the Canucks' roster, and if they opt to balance their defensive pairing by handedness, he could see himself alongside Quinn Hughes on Opening Night.

Hronek will miss the rest of the season, including playoffs, to strengthen his ailing shoulder, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports.
Coach Rick Tocchet said that the organization wants Hronek to be ready for the start of next season, and he needs to focus on strengthening his shoulder. The defenseman played only four games after his trade from Detroit, picking up one assist. Hronek was outstanding with the Red Wings, tallying nine times with 29 assists in 60 games. Hronek was a force on the power play with the Red Wings, finding the back of the net four times while setting up 12 others.

Hronek has had the best season of his career this year -- he's already set a new career high in goals with nine and has also already tied his previous career high with 38 points through just 60 games. Quinn Hughes is locked in as the quarterback for Vancouver's No. 1 power-play unit, but Hronek should see top-four usage and skate with his new team's secondary man-advantage unit. Hronek ripped his eighth goal of the season in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Canucks.
Hronek had gone 20 straight games and 43 shots without a goal before snapping the drought Saturday, when he squared up from the point and weaved the puck through heavy traffic. Despite the recent slump, this has been a terrific season for Czech defenseman, as he's also tacked on 26 assists to complement a career-high 13 points on the man advantage. Teammate Moritz Seider winning the Calder Trophy took a lot of attention off Hronek leading up to fantasy drafts, but it's the latter with a six-point advantage through 51 games.
