  • Bruins' Anthony Richard: Pots first goal of season

Richard scored his first goal of the season in Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Kings. He beat David Rittich midway through the second period to give the Bruins a 3-1 lead, but the home squad let it slip through their fingers. Richard has never been able to carve out a regular role in the NHL and may not be around for long in Boston, but the 27-year-old is having another productive campaign in the AHL with 19 goals and 38 points in 41 games for Providence.

He picked up one shot on goal and six hits in 10:38 of ice time during the Bruins' 3-0 loss to Washington on Saturday.

  • Canadiens' Anthony Richard: Tallies in loss

Richard scored a goal on one shot and assisted on another in Thursday's 9-5 loss to Florida. He added one hit and two penalty minutes over 10:26 of ice time Richard recorded his first multi-point game since joining Montreal. After dogged forecheck work by the fourth line, Richard gained control of the puck, spun around and fired one off a post that Sergei Bobrovsky never saw. It was the second goal in as many games for Richard, who is up with Montreal following a knee injury suffered by Christian Dvorak. He later added an assist on Michael Pezzetta's tally.

  • Canadiens' Anthony Richard: Logs assist in return

Richard had an assist and one shot on goal over 11:11 of ice time in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to Nashville. Richard returned to the active lineup after being a healthy scratch the last two games. He skated on the third line and was the secondary helper on Josh Anderson's goal. Richard showed a scoring touch in the AHL before a recent callup to Montreal and could be in line for steady playing time. Montreal head coach Martin St. Louis scratched Joel Armia on Tuesday, and the coach has no shortage of unproductive forwards.

  • Canadiens' Anthony Richard: Scores first NHL goal

Richard scored a goal on his lone shot on net in Montreal's 2-1 overtime loss to Colorado on Wednesday. He added one hit and two penalty minutes over 9:44 of ice time. Richard's marker came just 1:48 into the game, but Montreal didn't build off that early edge. It was his first goal in two contests this season, as well as his first career NHL point. His hooking penalty early in the third period led to Colorado's power-play goal that tied the contest. Unlike his first game, when Richard skated at times on the second line, he remained on the fourth line Wednesday. Unless Montreal gives Richard a bigger role, the 26-year-old shouldn't be expected to make regular offensive contributions.

Richard penned a one-year, two-way contract with the Habs on Wednesday. Richard played in 71 minor-league games last year for the Admirals and Crunch in which he tallied 17 goals and 21 helpers. The 25-year-old center's last NHL appearance came back in 2019-20 with the Predators and has logged just one other NHL game in his career. As such, fantasy players should probably anticipate Richard once again ending up in the minors for the bulk, if not all, of the upcoming season.

  • Predators' Anthony Richard: Waived by Preds

Richard was placed on waivers by the Predators on Saturday, Adam Vingan of The Athletic reports. Richard has seen limited action at the NHL level with just a single game under his belt in each of the last two seasons with the Preds. Assuming he clears waivers first, he could be a candidate for the team's taxi squad this season. Such a role would give him fantasy appeal in only the deepest of formats.

  • Predators' Anthony Richard: Sent back to AHL

The Predators re-assigned Richard to AHL Milwaukee on Sunday. The 22-year-old got one game with the big club in his time, accumulating two shots and was a minus-1 in the contest. His demotion is likely a good sign regarding the health of Matt Duchene (lower body) and Filip Forsburg (lower body). Richard had 47 point in 73 AHL games last campaign for the Admirals.
