Stecher agreed to a one-year, $1.1 million contract with Arizona on Saturday, according to Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan. Stecher had three goals, 14 points, 44 PIM, 70 hits and 92 blocks in 81 contests between Arizona and Calgary in 2022-23. He started the 2022-23 campaign with the Coyotes but was traded to the Flames on March 3. Stecher has opted to return to the Coyotes as a free agent and should once again serve primarily on the third pairing.... See More ... See Less

Flames' Troy Stecher: Lights lamp Monday
Stecher scored a goal on two shots in Monday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Predators. Stecher got the Flames on the board at 7:41 of the second period. The defenseman has earned four points over his last six contests. For the season, the 29-year-old has three goals, 14 points, 86 shots on net, 92 blocked shots, 69 hits and a minus-5 rating through 80 appearances between the Flames and the Coyotes.... See More ... Flames' Troy Stecher: Registers assist
Stecher logged an assist, two shots on goal and two hits in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Ducks. Stecher saw a shot attempt tipped in by Nick Ritchie at 8:18 of the second period to put the Flames ahead 3-2. While his average ice time has dropped by over two and a half minutes since he was traded from the Coyotes to the Flames, the stronger supporting cast on his new team has helped him put up passable offense. Stecher is at six points through 15 contests with Calgary, and he's at 13 points in 76 outings overall.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Troy Stecher: Has two-point game
Stecher collected a goal and an assist in Calgary's 5-4 overtime victory over Vancouver on Friday. Stecher earned his first multi-point game of the 2022-23 campaign. He has two goals and 12 points in 75 contests this season. Stecher entered Friday's action averaging just 14:29 of ice time over 13 games since being acquired by Calgary from Arizona. With that limited role, his offensive pace isn't likely to meaningfully increase.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Troy Stecher: Scores first goal in over a year
Stecher scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Ducks. Stecher's goal was his first regular-season tally since Feb. 17, 2022, though he also netted two goals over four games versus the Oilers in the playoffs last year. The 28-year-old blueliner already has three points through 10 contests with the Flames. He's at 10 points, 63 hits, 89 blocked shots, 72 shots on net, 40 PIM and a minus-6 rating through 71 outings between Calgary and Arizona this season.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Troy Stecher: Registers assist versus old team
Stecher notched an assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Coyotes. Stecher began the year with the Coyotes, and he was able to set up a Jonathan Huberdeau equalizer in the third period of his return to Arizona. Stecher already has two helpers through six games with the Flames after logging just seven assists in 61 contests with the Coyotes. He's added 67 shots on net, 88 blocked shots, 62 hits, 35 PIM and a minus-5 rating through 67 outings this season.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Troy Stecher: Gets first helper for new team
Stecher produced an assist and two shots on goal in Monday's 5-4 win over the Stars. Sustained zone time early in the second period led to the Flames' second goal, with Stecher firing a cross-ice pass for Nikita Zadorov to blast into the net. The helper was Stecher's first in two games with the Flames following a deadline deal with the Coyotes. Stecher has eight helpers, 65 shots on net, 86 blocked shots, 59 hits, 31 PIM and a minus-4 rating through 63 contests overall, so he's unlikely to move the needle in fantasy.... See More ... Flames' Troy Stecher: Traded to Calgary
The Flames acquired Stecher and Nick Ritchie from Arizona in exchange for Connor Mackey and Brett Ritchie on Friday. Stecher has averaged a tick under 17 minutes of ice time per game this season, picking up seven assists in 61 games. He will provide the Flames with some depth on the blue line, likely lining up as a third-pairing defenseman when he is in the lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Troy Stecher: Offers assist in win
Stecher logged an assist, three shots on goal, four blocked shots and two PIM in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks. Stecher's three assists in 10 games in February made this his most productive month of the season. The 28-year-old blueliner has had little success contributing on offense with seven helpers, 60 shots on net and a minus-1 rating through 60 contests overall. He's added 85 blocked shots, 57 hits and 29 PIM in a bottom-four role.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Troy Stecher: Pockets helper in overtime win
Stecher logged an assist and went plus-2 in Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blue Jackets. Stecher set up Travis Boyd's first-period tally. With four helpers over his last 14 games, Stecher has improved a bit on offense, but it isn't enough to earn him much attention in fantasy. The 28-year-old defenseman has six helpers, 55 shots on net, 56 hits, 76 blocked shots, 27 PIM and a plus-1 rating through 57 contests overall.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Troy Stecher: Collects helper Saturday
Stecher notched an assist and blocked two shots in Saturday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Blues. Stecher helped out on the second of Clayton Keller's tallies in the contest. The 28-year-old Stecher also led the Coyotes with 25:39 of ice time, the first time he's exceeded even 20 minutes since Oct. 17. The blueliner could be in line for an increased role with Jakob Chychrun soon to be traded and Shayne Gostisbehere (upper body) out. Stecher has five assists, 51 shots on net, 73 blocked shots, 53 hits and a minus-3 rating in 53 outings overall, so even a significant boost in playing time is unlikely to make him an option in fantasy.... Coyotes' Troy Stecher: Pockets assist
Stecher logged an assist, two hits and two blocked shots in Thursday's 5-0 win over the Blues. Stecher is starting to get involved on offense -- he has two assists over his last six games since snapping a 22-game drought. The 28-year-old still shouldn't be expected to contribute much, and certainly not enough to help in fantasy. He's at a meager four helpers with 48 shots on goal, 47 hits, 67 blocked shots, 23 PIM and a minus-2 rating through 49 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Troy Stecher: Ends drought with helper
Stecher recorded an assist, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Red Wings. Stecher was finally separated from Patrik Nemeth -- the two defensemen have both endured long droughts recently. Stecher ended his with a secondary helper on a Travis Boyd tally in the third period. During the 22-game dry spell, Stecher went minus-3 with 28 blocked shots, 16 hits and 15 shots on net. The 28-year-old has three assists, 43 shots on net, 60 blocked shots, 40 hits, 23 PIM and a minus-3 rating in 44 outings overall.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Troy Stecher: Not generating offense
Stecher has not recorded a point in his last 17 games. Stecher and the Coyotes as a whole were held off the scoresheet in Friday's 2-0 loss to the Blackhawks. During his lengthy drought, the 28-year-old blueliner has added 26 blocked shots, eight hits, 12 shots on goal, six PIM and a minus-2 rating. He's seen a bottom-four role with a regular shift in the Coyotes' seven-defensemen lineups, but he's stick at two helpers through 38 contests overall, so he's a non-factor in fantasy.... See More ... Coyotes' Troy Stecher: Ends drought with assist
Stecher logged an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Kings. Stecher has been a consistent presence in the Coyotes' lineup, but he entered Thursday on a 13-game point drought. He ended it when he set up a Matias Maccelli goal in the second period. The Coyotes have a fairly young blue line, with Stecher providing a veteran presence with a focus on defense. He's up to two helpers, 29 blocked shots, 24 hits, 28 shots on net, 17 PIM and a minus-3 rating in 21 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Troy Stecher: Collects first helper with new team
Stecher produced an assist, two hits and two PIM in Friday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Jets. Stecher has been quiet on offense to begin the year, and it's seen him log a reduced role in recent contests. The defenseman's assist Friday was his first point in seven games. The 28-year-old has added nine shots on net, six hits, 11 blocked shots, six PIM and a minus-6 rating. He had just three points in 29 outings between the Kings and the Red Wings last year, so he shouldn't be expected to put up big scoring numbers.... See More ... See Less -
Coyotes' Troy Stecher: Signs with Coyotes
Stecher signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract with the Coyotes on Wednesday, Rick Dhaliwal of TSN 1040 Vancouver reports. Stecher was limited to just 29 games in 2021-22 split between the Red Wings and the Kings due to a wrist injury, picking up only three points over that span. He might have a regular spot in the lineup with Arizona in 2022-23, but he'll almost certainly produce minimal offense on what will likely be a bottom-feeding Coyotes team.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Troy Stecher: Adds two more points in win
Stecher scored a goal on two shots, supplied an assist, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Oilers in Game 5. Stecher has posted multiple points in each of his two playoff outings. He's up to two goals and two assists in those games after producing just three points in 29 regular-season contests. The 28-year-old will likely continue to play -- there's little reason to take him out of the lineup while he's hot.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Troy Stecher: Unlikely source of offense
Stetcher scored a goal on four shots, added an assist and went plus-3 in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Oilers in Game 4. Stecher had the Oilers' second tally of the game and added a helper on a Carl Grundstrom empty-netter. During the regular season, Stecher had only three points in 29 games between the Red Wings and the Kings, so we wouldn't expect him to add many multi-point efforts going forward. He may not even be guaranteed a place in the lineup, though he could stick as a veteran presence on the third pairing.... See More ... See Less -
Kings' Troy Stecher: Collects rare helper
Stecher posted an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Wednesday's 9-3 loss to the Avalanche. This was Stecher's first point in 12 games since he was traded from the Red Wings to the Kings at the deadline. The 28-year-old has been a regular presence in the Kings' lineup after missing nearly three months to a wrist injury earlier in the year. He's posted just three points, 48 shots on net, 37 blocked shots, 33 hits and a minus-6 rating in 28 contests overall.... See More ... See Less
