  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Falls in finale

Ersson stopped 16 of 17 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Capitals. Ersson was solid Tuesday, holding Washington to an Alex Ovechkin goal in the first period. However, with the Flyers needing a regulation win to stay alive in the playoff hunt, Ersson went to the bench with the score tied 1-1 in the third period, allowing T.J. Oshie to collect the game-winner in an empty net. Although it was an inconsistent year for Ersson overall, he finished strong, going 2-1-0 while allowing just two goals on 62 shots over his final three outings. He'll finish the season 23-19-7 with an .890 save percentage and a 2.82 GAA.

He will have a tough matchup against Washington, which would clinch a playoff spot with a win.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Fourth shutout of season

Ersson made 20 saves in a 1-0 win over the Devils on Saturday. Ersson's teammates were excellent in front of him, and the 24-year-old netminder took care of the pucks that did get through. It was his second consecutive game where he allowed one or fewer goals after he surrendered 26 goals in his previous six starts. Ersson has four shutouts on the season, and he's the first Flyers' netminder to put up four since Steve Mason did it in 2015-16. He's also the first Philadelphia rookie goalie with that many since Brian Boucher had four in 1999-2000.

Ersson stopped 24 of 25 shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Rangers. Ersson struggled tremendously in his last start, allowing five goals on 17 shots before getting pulled in a 9-3 loss against Montreal on Tuesday. The 24-year-old has had an up and down year, recording an .886 save percentage and a 21-18-7 record in 48 appearances. • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Mercy pull against Habs

Ersson surrendered five goals on 17 shots Tuesday before being pulled in the second frame of a 9-3 loss to Montreal. His team seemingly forgot how to play and left Ersson on his own. His pull came after giving up four goals in under three minutes of action in the second period. Fatigue may be playing a role for Ersson, who is 0-4-1 in his last six starts with two early departures. He has started 46 games this season, a huge spike from last season when he started just 10 contests.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Surrenders six goals

Ersson stopped 27 of 33 shots in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Blue Jackets. Ersson had a very tough night. He allowed two goals in each period, including one on the power play, yet he faced six fewer shots than opposing netminder Jet Greaves did at the other end of the ice. Including Saturday's performance, Ersson has not had a save percentage above .900 since March 23, which unsurprisingly was his last victory. The Flyers are battling for a playoff position, but Ersson is a difficult goalie to trust for fantasy managers.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Yanked after first period

Ersson allowed two goals on six shots in the first period before getting pulled during Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Islanders. Ersson has struggled in his last four starts. His best save percentage in that stretch is an .867. In the other three games, he posted a .792 save percentage or worse. Even without those recent rough starts, he's at an .891 save percentage through 46 games. With how he's been playing, there are almost certainly better options in net for fantasy managers on any given night.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Falls to Habs

Ersson turned aside 13 of 15 shots in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Canadiens, with Montreal's final two goals getting scored into an empty net. The 24-year-old netminder wasn't busy, but the Habs took advantage of their chances -- both pucks that beat Ersson came from in close, as the Flyers' defense gave Nick Suzuki and Jesse Ylonen a little too much space in front of the net. Ersson has seen a heavy workload in March, going 4-4-3 over 11 starts with a 3.34 GAA and .875 save percentage as Philly clings to a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Falls in OT on Broadway

Ersson turned aside 21 shots in Tuesday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Rangers. After a scoreless first period, the game began to get away from both netminders, and what looked like it might be a goaltending duel between Ersson and Igor Shesterkin turned into a barn burner. The six goals were the most Ersson had given up since he got beaten seven times by the Ducks on Oct. 28, but the performance continues a shaky March for the Flyers rookie. Over 10 outings on the month, he's gone 4-3-3 with a 3.48 GAA and .876 save percentage. Philly is now only one point up on Washington for third place in the Metropolitan Division, and three points up on Detroit for the final wild-card berth in the Eastern Conference.

Ersson turned aside 30 shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Hurricanes. The Flyers twice rallied from one-goal deficits, but they got no chance to respond after Seth Jarvis converted a 2-on-1 rush in the extra frame. Ersson has given up at least three goals in five of eight starts in March, stumbling to a 3.33 GAA and .887 save percentage on the month with a 3-3-2 record as Philly tries to cling to a playoff spot.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Picks up win

Ersson stopped 27 of 30 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 victory over Toronto. Ersson played with the lead for the majority of the contest -- he stopped all 18 shots sent his way in the first two periods. The Maple Leafs finally solved Ersson in the final frame, but he turned away enough shots to secure the win. This was only Ersson's third win in seven games in the month of March, and he's allowed three goals or less in six of those starts. Ersson could be a valuable piece for fantasy managers over the final month of the regular season.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Facing Lightning

Ersson will defend the road crease in Tampa Bay on Saturday, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports. Ersson has been great over the last six games, going 3-2-1 with a sensational 1.99 GAA and a .917 save percentage. Overall, Ersson is 18-12-5 for the surprisingly competitive Flyers. The Lightning and Flyers are both on the right side of the Eastern Conference playoff bubble with less than a quarter of the season remaining but have a handful of teams on their heels, so this is a pivotal game for both teams.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Solid in loss

Ersson made 22 saves in a 2-1 loss to the Rangers on Saturday. Alexis Lafreniere beat Ersson five-hole from the top of the left circle during a 4-on-4 situation in the second period. Matt Rempe had a shot hit his leg while he was parked in front of the net and deflect in during the third, which stood as the game-winner. In February, Ersson has allowed 17 goals on 186 shots en route to a 4-2-1 record over seven games. He has had a heavy workload since becoming the Flyers' No. 1 netminder, and he's performed remarkably well for someone who only had 10 starts and 12 games played in the NHL before this season.
