  • Jets' Dylan Samberg: Racks up two assists

Samberg notched two assists, three blocked shots, two shots on goal, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 3-0 win over the Panthers. Samberg helped out on goals by Nino Niederreiter and Adam Lowry in this contest. Prior to Friday, Samberg had gone three games without a point. He's up to five helpers, 18 shots on net, 31 blocked shots, 31 PIM and a plus-5 rating through 19 appearances. He continues to see a third-pairing role, holding off Logan Stanley for playing time.

  • Jets' Dylan Samberg: Hands out helper

Samberg recorded an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Devils. Samberg snapped a seven-game point drought with the helper. He's been in a third-pairing role for most of the season, and with the Jets dressing seven defensemen Tuesday, he saw just 13:33 of ice time. Samberg is up to three helpers, 20 blocked shots, 29 PIM, seven hits, 12 shots on net and a plus-3 rating through 15 appearances. He might top his career high of eight points from last year, but he's far from reliable enough to help in fantasy.

  • Jets' Dylan Samberg: Blanked in OT loss

Samberg was scoreless in Monday's 3-2 overtime loss against the Rangers. Samberg didn't get onto the scoresheet, but he was able to take two shots while also recording a pair of blocked shots in his 14:57 of ice time. The 24-year-old defenseman has just a single assist and plus-4 rating in eight games since opening the season with an assist in Calgary on Oct. 11. The third-pairing defenseman's fantasy ceiling is remains significantly limited.

  • Jets' Dylan Samberg: Inks two-year deal

Samberg signed a two-year, $2.8 million contract with the Jets on Wednesday. Samberg emerged as a solid third-pairing defenseman last season, racking up eight points, a plus-10 rating, 91 hits and 93 blocked shots in 63 games. The 24-year-old is now locked in at a reasonable cap hit and will likely fill a similar role for the next two seasons. He'll be a restricted free agent with arbitration rights at the end of this contract.

  • Jets' Dylan Samberg: Not sidelined with injury

Samberg was deemed a healthy scratch against Arizona on Tuesday by coach Rick Bowness and wasn't dealing with a leg injury, Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun reports. Considering Samberg is pointless in 21 straight contests and has been frequently left out of the lineup, it certainly doesn't come as a surprise that he was once again a healthy scratch Tuesday. If the blueliner does break into the lineup, it almost certainly will come at the expense of Kyle Capobianco.

Samberg blocked a shot off of his leg in Tuesday's morning skate and he won't play versus the Coyotes, Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun reports. Samberg scored his first NHL goal and dished an assist during Sunday's 5-2 victory over the visiting Ducks. Samberg was forced to wait a few minutes for clarification. • Jets' Dylan Samberg: Wearing non-contact jersey

Samberg (lower body) practiced in a non-contact sweater Monday, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports, indicating he won't be ready to play against St. Louis. Samberg was previously labeled as day-to-day but the fact that he isn't cleared for contact doesn't bode well for a short-term absence. Even when healthy, the Minnesota native is far from a lock for a spot in the lineup and figures to frequently find himself watching from the press box.
