Wells was released from his professional tryout with Nashville on Sunday and sent to AHL Milwaukee. Wells will try to earn himself a contract at camp with the Admirals. He posted a 9-6-1 record with a 2.96 GAA and a .905 save percentage in 17 appearances with AHL Rockford last season. Wells also played in two games with ECHL Idaho, three contests with AHL Texas and one NHL outing with the Blackhawks during the 2022-23 campaign.... See More ... See Less

Stars' Dylan Wells: Joins big club
Wells was promoted from AHL Texas on Monday, per CapFriendly. Wells made his NHL debut with Chicago this season, stopping 12 of 13 shots in relief back in November. He posted an .839 save percentage in three games with AHL Texas after being acquired by the Stars. He'll serve as emergency depth on the postseason roster.... See More ... See Less -
Stars' Dylan Wells: Dealt to Dallas
Wells and Max Domi were traded from the Blackhawks to the Stars on Thursday in exchange for Anton Khudobin and a 2025 second-round pick. Wells made his NHL debut in a relief appearance with the Blackhawks earlier this season. The 25-year-old Wells and the veteran Khudobin will essentially swap spots with the clubs' respective minor-league squads.... See More ... See Less -
Blackhawks' Dylan Wells: Snags two-way deal
Wells penned a one-year, two-way contract with Chicago on Wednesday. Wells has played three games on a minor-league deal for AHL Rockford this season in which he is 1-1-0 with a .862 save percentage and 4.27 GAA. With Alex Stalock (concussion) in doubt, the Hawks found themselves desperately short of NHL-eligible netminders, forcing them to sign Wells to a two-way deal that would allow him to be called up to Chicago.... Oilers' Dylan Wells: Assigned to AHL affiliate
Wells was assigned to AHL Bakersfield on Friday. The Oilers added Alex Stalock (not injury related) to their active roster in a corresponding move, so they're no longer in need of Wells' services as an emergency option in goal. The 23-year-old backstop will head to the minors for the foreseeable future.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Dylan Wells: Shifts to taxi squad
Wells was sent down to the taxi squad Friday. Wells was an emergency recall with Mikko Koskinen (not injury related) missing Thursday's game against Montreal. The 23-year-old netminder likely won't see any NHL action in 2020-21 -- he's yet to make his debut. He recorded a 3.77 GAA and .878 save percentage in seven AHL games last season.... See More ... Oilers' Dylan Wells: Recalled to active roster
The Oilers recalled Wells to the active roster on an emergency basis Thursday. It appears the team may be sitting Mikko Koskinen (undisclosed) as a precaution for Thursday's game, which would leave Wells to assume No. 2 duties behind starter Mike Smith. Wells made seven appearances in the AHL last season, recording a 3.77 GAA an d .878 save percentage over that span.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Dylan Wells: Brought up to taxi squad
The Oilers recalled Wells from AHL Bakersfield and assigned him to their taxi squad Friday. Troy Grosenick is still unavailable due to the NHL's COVID-19 protocols, so Wells will be on hand as an emergency option in net. The 23-year-old has posted a 3.77 GAA and a .878 save percentage in seven AHL appearances last season.... See More ... See Less

Bruce LeVine@BruceLeVinePuck22H agoWith all the depth on the Stars, expect Stankoven, Bourque and Bichsel to start the season in the AHL. On many NHL teams they would already by penciled into the Opening Night lineup. Their day is coming, but this is one tough roster to crack.
