Boqvist recorded two assists while adding one shot on net, two blocked shots and a plus-4 rating in Wednesday's 7-3 win over Chicago. The 23-year-old blueliner has been in the lineup for only six of Columbus' first 20 games to begin the season and hadn't produced a point while bouncing in and out of the press box, but Boqvist played like he had something to prove Wednesday against his former club. His second helper highlighted his offensive upside, as he found a wide-open Kirill Marchenko at the side of the Chicago net with a cross-ice laser for the Jackets' sixth goal of the night. Boqvist's draft pedigree -- he was the eighth overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft before being sent to Columbus in the Seth Jones deal -- will keep earning him chances, but he'll need to show a lot more consistency to be a fantasy asset.... Blue Jackets' Adam Boqvist: Little impact in season debut
Boqvist failed to record a point while adding one shot and a plus-1 rating in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Rangers. A healthy scratch for the Blue Jackets' season opener, Boqvist drew into the lineup after Zach Werenski (quadriceps) got hurt and Andrew Peeke struggled. Boqvist did little with his opportunity though, and it was Damon Severson who took Werenski's spot on the top power-play unit. By contrast, 19-year-old David Jiricek also made his season debut Saturday and made an immediate impact by firing home the game-winning goal. Boqvist will need to show more if he wants to avoid yo-yoing between the lineup and the press box.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Adam Boqvist: Ready to rock
Boqvist (illness) will be back in the lineup Tuesday against the Maple Leafs, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports. Boqvist, who has missed the past three games, has produced 22 points, 63 shots on goal and 42 blocked shots in 40 appearances this season. His return to action will make Jake Christiansen a healthy scratch.... See More ... See Less -

Blue Jackets' Adam Boqvist: Not at practice Thursday
Boqvist (undisclosed) missed practice Thursday and is a question mark to play in Boston, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports. Boqvist will be a game-time decision. The Blue Jackets have been decimated on the blue line as Jake Christiansen is also a game-time decision and Nick Blankenburg (ankle), Erik Gudbranson (separated shoulder), Jake Bean (shoulder) and Zach Werenski (shoulder surgery) are all out of action. The Blue Jackets recalled Marcus Bjork on an emergency basis Thursday, but if Boqvist and Christiansen are unable to go, the Blue Jackets will be down to five healthy defensemen. Boqvist has five goals and 22 points in 40 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Adam Boqvist: Powers up with apple
Boqvist dialed up a power-play assist in Friday's 5-4 win over the Islanders. Injuries are largely to blame for Boqvist appearing in just 38 games this season, but he's shown flashes of brilliance when given the chance. The talented young blueliner has registered five goals and 17 assists to tie a career high in points, plus Boqvist has accounted for nine helpers on the man advantage. Zach Werenski's shoulder injury -- which surfaced in mid-November and has kept him out ever since -- has led to additional opportunities for Boqvist as he takes aim at a strong finish to the 2022-23 campaign.... Blue Jackets' Adam Boqvist: Scores a pair in win
Boqvist scored two goals on four shots in Tuesday's 7-6 overtime win over Washington. Boqvist netted his first goal in the second period, beating Charlie Lindgren with a sharp-angle shot, before adding another tally in the third. The 22-year-old Boqvist is up to five goals and 21 points through 37 games this season, one shy of his career high set last year.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Adam Boqvist: Two-point effort Friday
Boqvist scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Kraken. The 22-year-old is the most offensively gifted player currently healthy on the Columbus blue line, and Boqvist is having a nice run with three goals and eight points over the last eight games, including four helpers on the power play. With the Blue Jackets having nothing to play for but the best chance at landing Connor Bedard in the draft, they can afford to live with Boqvist's occasional defensive lapses and give him all the ice time he can handle to aid his development.... Blue Jackets' Adam Boqvist: Expected to play Tuesday
Boqvist (lower body) is on the ice for warmups and expected to play Tuesday versus the Sabres, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports. Boqvist was initially labeled a game-time decision, but the Blue Jackets also sent down Billy Sweezey to AHL Cleveland before the contest. That paves the way for Boqvist to return to the lineup after a one-game absence, and he should also be in line to see his usual share of power-play time.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Adam Boqvist: Game-time call
Boqvist (lower body) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's matchup with Buffalo, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports. Boqvist's status for Tuesday's contest won't be determined until the Blue Jackets take the ice for pregame warmups, so fantasy managers hoping to deploy him should plan accordingly. He's picked up 16 points through 27 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Adam Boqvist: Unavailable Sunday

He is expected to be replaced in the lineup by Billy Sweezey, who was brought up from AHL Cleveland on Saturday. Boqvist has 16 points, 37 shots on goal, 27 blocks and 15 hits in 27 contests this campaign.... See More ... See Less -

The 22-year-old beat Vitek Vanecek with a quick snap shot from the high slot early in the second period to tie the score at 2-2. Boqvist has been surprisingly productive despite the troubles he's had staying healthy, and in his last 16 games dating back to Dec. 31 he's produced 12 points, including four power-play assists.... Blue Jackets' Adam Boqvist: In Friday's lineup

Blue Jackets' Adam Boqvist: Hands out power-play helper
Boqvist notched a power-play assist, two shots on goal and a minus-2 rating in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Canucks. Boqvist has gotten on the scoresheet in seven of his last 10 games, earning eight assists over that span. The 22-year-old set up a Kirill Marchenko tally early in the first period Friday. Boqvist has 10 helpers (three on the power play), 25 shots on net, 15 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating through 19 contests. His power-play role gives him some intrigue in fantasy, but he's on the third pairing at even strength.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Adam Boqvist: Provides another helper
Boqvist notched an assist, three shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Oilers. Boqvist is up to six assists over nine games since he was scratched twice earlier in the month. It appears he got the message, and he's been able to log regular bottom-four minutes since then. The Swede has eight assists, 23 shots on net, 15 blocked shots, 10 hits and a minus-2 rating through 18 outings overall.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Adam Boqvist: Picks up power-play assist
Boqvist had a power-play assist in Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Flames. Boqvist earned the secondary helper on a Patrik Laine tally in the second period. Aside from being scratched twice this month, Boqvist has been decent in January with six helpers through 10 contests. The 22-year-old defenseman has seven assists, 20 shots on net, 13 blocked shots, 10 hits and a minus-4 rating through 17 outings overall, though his offense hasn't shown enough to help fantasy managers in most standard formats.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Adam Boqvist: Healthy scratch Saturday
Boqvist was a healthy scratch for Saturday's shootout win over the Hurricanes. The 22-year-old had been handling point duties on Columbus' first power-play unit and picked up two assists in his last three games, but a bad giveaway in Thursday's loss to Washington put Boqvist in coach Brad Larsen's doghouse, at least temporarily. The Blue Jackets don't currently have any healthy blueliners with Boqvist's level of offensive skill, but the team is more interested in his long-term development as a well-rounded player than in short-term production in what's turned out to be a lost season for the franchise. Expect his role and ice time to fluctuate as long as he keeps making glaring errors in his own end.... See More ... See Less
