Fehervary signed a three-year, $8.025 million contract with Washington on Tuesday. Fehervary collected six goals, 16 points, 91 shots on net, 128 blocked shots and a team-leading 217 hits in 67 games with the Capitals last season. The 23-year-old blueliner has been a key part of Washington's defense corps while occupying a shutdown role alongside John Carlson.... See More ... See Less

Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Tallies sixth goal of season
Fehervary provided a goal in a 5-2 loss to St. Louis on Friday. Fehervary scored early in the third period to reduce the Blues' lead to 4-1. He has six goals and 14 points in 55 outings this season. Fehervary was held off the scoresheet in his previous three appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Ready to play Saturday
Fehervary (lower body) will play Saturday versus the Islanders, Mike Vogel of the Capitals' official site reports. Fehervary missed three games with the injury, but he'll be back in his usual top-four role Saturday. The defenseman has 13 points through 51 outings this season, so he's unlikely to be in the mix for most fantasy managers.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Won't return Thursday
Fehervary (lower body) isn't expected to play Thursday versus New Jersey, according to Tom Gulitti of NHL.com. Fehervary is set to miss his third consecutive game. He has five goals, 13 points, 163 hits and 93 blocks in 51 outings this season. With Fehervary still unavailable, Vincent Iorio might play in his third straight contest.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Game-time decision
Fehervary (lower body) will be a game-time decision versus New Jersey on Thursday, Tarik El-Bashir of The Athletic reports. Fehervary has missed the last two games, but he was wearing a regular jersey Wednesday and Thursday at practice. Fehervary has five goals, 13 points, 163 hits and 93 blocked shots in 51 games this season. Stay tuned.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Skates in regular jersey
Fehervary (lower body) shed the non-contact sweater at practice Wednesday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports. Being cleared for contact would appear to open the door for Fehervary to return to the lineup against the Devils on Thursday, though he hasn't been officially confirmed back in the lineup as yet. If he does play Thursday, the defenseman would likely team up with Alexander Alexeyev in a second-pairing role.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Still wearing non-contact sweater
Fehervary (lower body) hasn't been cleared for contact in the lead-up to Monday's matchup with Los Angeles, Tarik El-Bashir of The Athletic reports. Fehervary will be shelved for his second straight game due to his lower-body problem, having garnered one goal, two assists and eight shots in his last four contests. Alexander Alexeyev and Vincent Iorio will make up the bottom pairing against the Kings with Fehervary and Nick Jensen (upper body) on the shelf.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Not playing Saturday
Fehervary (lower body) will not suit up versus San Jose on Saturday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports. Fehervary was injured Wednesday against the Ducks. He had scored earlier in the contest, giving him a goal and three points in his last four games. Fehervary has five goals, eight assists, 163 hits and 93 blocked shots in 51 games this season.... Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Departs Wednesday's contest
Fehervary (lower body) won't return to Wednesday's game versus the Ducks. Fehervary was ruled out during the third period. The 23-year-old defenseman opened the scoring in the first period, which was his fifth goal and 13th point of the campaign. Trades have already depleted the Capitals' blue line a bit, and both Fehervary and Nick Jensen (upper body) couldn't finish Wednesday's game, which could lead to the Capitals making a roster move ahead of Saturday's game in San Jose.... Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Slips assist
Fehervary logged an assist, two shots on goal and three hits in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche. Fehervary has picked up five points through 11 outings in January, accounting for exactly half of his 10 points in 38 contests overall. The 23-year-old defenseman has added 51 shots on net, 124 hits, 66 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating. His physical play can help in some fantasy formats, but he's not someone managers should rely on for offense.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Nets two points in loss
Fehervary scored a goal and an assist on one shot in the Capitals' 4-2 loss to the Wild on Tuesday. Fehervary opened the scoring in Tuesday's contest, scoring in the slot off a nice feed from Alex Ovechkin. He would also add an assist on Dylan Strome's goal in the second period. This performance gives Fehervary four points so far in the month of January and snaps a mini two-game pointless streak. On the season, Fehervary has four goals and nine points in 35 games.... Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Taken off IR
Fehervary (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, according to the NHL media site. Fehervary is expected to be back in the lineup Saturday against Montreal following a 12-game absence. He was paired with Matt Irwin during Friday's practice and the Capitals returned Lucas Johansen to AHL Hershey. Fehervary has picked up four points, 36 shots on goal, 39 blocks and 83 hits in 26 contests this campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Practicing in regular jersey
Fehervary (upper body) took part in Wednesday's practice sporting a regular jersey but won't be ready to play against Ottawa on Thursday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports. Fehervary will be sidelined for his 12th straight contest due to his lingering upper-body issue. In 26 outings this year, the 23-year-old defenseman has registered just four points despite averaging 20:05 of ice time.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Skating Thursday
Fehervary (upper body) was on the ice prior to Thursday's morning skate, Tarik El-Bashir of The Athletic reports. Fehervary has missed the last five games with the injury so his presence on the ice is an encouraging sign. The Capitals returned Lucas Johansen to the minors on Wednesday, but it's not clear if this move was in advance of a return for Fehervary or Alexander Alexeyev (upper body), so check back for further updates.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Won't play Monday
Fehervary (upper body) won't be available Monday against Edmonton, Tarik El-Bashir of The Athletic reports. Fehervary was injured in Saturday's game versus Calgary. He is listed as day-to-day. Matt Irwin, who was scratched Saturday, will probably draw back in versus the Oilers.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Goals in consecutive games
Fehervary scored a goal on two shots, logged three hits and blocked two shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Kraken. Fehervary entered this road trip with no goals this season, but he's scored in each of the last two games. The 23-year-old defenseman plays more of a stay-at-home style, so this burst of offense is likely to be short-lived. He's up to four points, 36 shots, 82 hits, 38 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating through 25 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Fills empty cage
Fehervary scored an empty-net goal on two shots, added two hits, blocked shots and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Canucks. The Canucks aggressively pulled the goalie early, and Fehervary made them pay with his first goal of the year from long distance. The 23-year-old defenseman rarely does much on offense -- this was just his third point in 24 contests and his first since an assist Nov. 11 versus the Lightning. He's made up for it in physicality with 79 hits and 36 blocked shots while adding 34 shots on net, 10 PIM and an even plus-minus rating in a defensive top-four role.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Lends helping hand
Fehervary delivered an assist in Friday's 5-1 win over the Lightning. Last season, Fehervary impressively stacked eight goals on top of nine assists through 79 games as a rookie, and he also committed to 251 hits and 117 blocked shots. The 23-year-old defenseman is having a tougher time in the attacking zone this year -- as two assists represent his point total through 16 games -- but Fehervary still has the mean streak going defensively with 54 hits and 21 blocked shots between 20:30 of ice time on the second pair.... See More ... See Less -
Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Bags apple Monday
Fehervary recorded an assist, two hits and three blocked shots during Monday's 6-4 win over the Canucks. The helper is Fehervary's first point of the new season -- though the 23-year-old currently sits third in the league with 18 hits, so those in deeper formats that count such peripherals may want to take advantage of his prowess in this area.... Capitals' Martin Fehervary: Salts Saturday victory
Fehervary tallied an empty-net goal and doled out nine hits during Saturday's 6-3 win over the Penguins. After a seven-game scoring drought, Fehervary has goals in consecutive games -- alongside a whopping 15 hits. The 22-year-old defender has posted seven goals, 14 points and a solid plus-14 rating -- as well as 210 hits and 104 blocked shots -- in 68 games while averaging a healthy 19:40 of ice time in his first full season with the Capitals....
