Per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Blue Jackets put Christiansen on waivers Friday. Christiansen played in 24 games with Columbus in 2022-23, picking up four assists. The defenseman showed his offensive ability at the AHL level last season with 11 goals and 34 points in 50 games.... See More ... See Less

Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Inks one-year extension
Christiansen signed a one-year, two-way contract extension with Columbus on Monday. Christiansen racked up 11 goals and 34 points in 50 games with AHL Cleveland during the 2022-23 season. The 23-year-old defenseman also contributed four assists, 25 shots on goal, 23 blocked shots and 20 hits in 24 NHL appearances with Columbus last campaign. Christiansen could split time between the NHL and AHL again in 2023-24, but it wouldn't be a surprise if the bulk of his playing time came in the minors.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Sent back to minors
Christiansen was reassigned to AHL Cleveland on Wednesday. Christiansen's demotion to the minors is a little surprising considering the Jackets will be back in action Thursday and Friday against Pittsburgh and Buffalo and there aren't any AHL games between now and then. With all the injuries for Columbus, don't be surprised to see Christiansen brought back up before puck drop Thursday.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Back with big club
Christiansen was recalled by the Blue Jackets on Tuesday. Christiansen will likely draw into the lineup immediately Tuesday versus Philadelphia. He's collected three assists through 23 NHL appearances this year.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Sent back to AHL Cleveland
Christiansen was reassigned to the minors Wednesday. Christiansen's demotion may not mean that Nick Blakenburg (ankle) is ready to play, as the club can still recall Christiansen or another defenseman ahead of Thursday's clash with New Jersey. In his 23 games this year, the 23-year-old Christiansen notched three assists, 25 shots and 20 hits while averaging just 14:55 of ice time.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Expected to play Thursday
Christiansen (illness) is expected to be in the lineup Thursday versus the Bruins, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports. Christiansen and Adam Boqvist (illness) missed the morning skate, but head coach Brad Larsen was optimistic one of them would play. It appears Christiansen will, though he may see a bit less playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Misses practice Thursday
Christansen (undisclosed) missed practice Thursday and is questionable to play versus Boston, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports. Adam Boqvist (undisclosed) also missed practice and coach Brad Larsen hopes that at least one can play Thursday. The Blue Jackets recalled Marcus Bjork on an emergency basis, so at least there will be five healthy defensemen if Christiansen and Boqvist are both unable to play. Christiansen has three assists in 20 NHL games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Recalled from AHL
Christiansen was recalled from AHL Cleveland on Saturday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. Christiansen was recalled on an emergency basis as Erik Gudbranson (upper body) and Nick Blankenburg (lower body) were both injured Friday against the Islanders. Christiansen has two assists in 18 NHL games this season. He also chipped in eight goals and 21 helpers in 43 AHL games before his recall.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Sent down
Christiansen was assigned to AHL Cleveland on Monday. In a corresponding move, the Blue Jackets brought up blueliner Marcus Bjork from the minors. Christiansen has two assists, 21 shots on goal, 19 blocks and 17 hits in 18 outings with Columbus this season.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Back in NHL
Christiansen was recalled from AHL Cleveland on Saturday. The defenseman has seen action in 17 NHL games this season, picking up two assists. Christiansen started the season with Cleveland and was returned on Dec.28. He had two goals and 12 points in 23 AHL games this season before Saturday's recall.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Returned to AHL affiliate
Christiansen was assigned to AHL Cleveland on Wednesday. Christiansen was sent down to make room on the roster for Emil Bemstrom, who was recalled in a corresponding move. Christiansen's appeared in seven of the Blue Jackets' last eight games, picking up an assist while averaging 12:06 of ice time over that span, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him back with the big club in the near future.... Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Recalled from AHL
Christiansen was recalled from AHL Cleveland on Friday. The Blue Jackets are reeling on the blue line with injuries from Thursday's action to Zach Werenski (shoulder) and Nick Blankenburg (ankle), hence the call-up of Christiansen. He played eight games for Columbus last season, scoring once on four shots.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Demoted to minors
Christiansen was reassigned to AHL Cleveland on Thursday. Christiansen has logged just eight games for the Jackets this season in which he averaged a meager 9:46 of ice time. By shuffling the 22-year-old defenseman back to the minors, he should see significantly more minutes with the Monsters. Given Columbus' depth at defense, Christiansen may be hard-pressed to secure a place on the 23-man roster heading into the 2022-23 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Joins big club
Christiansen was recalled from AHL Cleveland on Sunday. Christiansen has one goal through four career NHL appearances. The 22-year-old will likely be a healthy scratch Monday against Boston barring an injury on Columbus' blue line.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Assigned to AHL
Christiansen was demoted to AHL Cleveland on Saturday. Christiansen logged 10:43 of ice time and lit the lamp in a 4-3 win over New Jersey on March 1. The 22-year-old recorded his first NHL point during his one-game stint and will return to AHL Cleveland, looking to add to his 26 points over 39 games there this season.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Back with big club
Christiansen was recalled from AHL Cleveland on an emergency basis Monday. This move could indicate that Zach Werenski (upper body) will miss Tuesday's tilt with the Devils. Christiansen has been held scoreless through three career NHL games but he has 26 points in 39 AHL games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Sent to AHL affiliate
Christiansen was reassigned to AHL Cleveland on Sautrday, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports. Christiansen will head to the minors to play in Saturday night's game versus AHL Lehigh Valley, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him back with the big club prior to Sunday's matchup with Pittsburgh. He's gone scoreless through three top-level appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Back from AHL Cleveland
Christiansen was recalled from AHL Cleveland on Thursday, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports. With Zach Werenski (upper body) ruled out for Thursday's game against the Panthers and Friday's against the Hurricanes, Christiansen was brought back up to the big club to provide some depth on the blue line. The 22-year-old has an impressive six goals and 26 points in 38 games for the Monsters this season, but he has yet to find the scoresheet in the NHL through three games with the Blue Jackets.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Sent to AHL Cleveland
Christiansen was demoted to AHL Cleveland from the taxi squad Monday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports. Christiansen will rejoin AHL Cleveland where he has recorded 20 points over 25 games this season. The 22-year-old averaged 9:20 of ice time over two NHL appearances since being recalled to the active roster Jan. 16.... See More ... See Less -
Blue Jackets' Jake Christiansen: Sent to taxi squad
Christiansen was assigned to the taxi squad from the active roster Sunday. Christiansen has averaged 10:29 of ice time and been held without a point over three NHL appearances this season. The 22-year-old was placed on the taxi squad upon the return of Adam Boqvist from the NHL's COVID-19 protocols.... See More ... See Less
