Kraken's Joey Daccord: Staying in Seattle
Daccord signed a two-year, $1.2 million AAV contract with the Kraken on Friday.
Daccord had a strong season with AHL Coachella Valley in 2022-23, posting a .918 save percentage and a 2.38 GAA through 38 games. He was even better in the Calder Cup Playoffs, improving his numbers to a .926 save percentage and a 2.22 GAA, respectively. The 26-year-old will likely enter training camp as the Kraken's backup behind Philipp Grubauer.

Daccord was sent to AHL Coachella Valley on Friday.
Daccord recorded a 2-1-1 record, 3.15 GAA and .900 save percentage in five contests with Seattle this season. Kraken's Joey Daccord: Falls short in Vegas
Daccord stopped 33 of 37 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Golden Knights.
Daccord didn't have an answer for the Golden Knights' second line -- Michael Amadio and Reilly Smith each put up three-point efforts. This was Daccord's first regulation loss at the NHL level this season. He's gone 2-1-1 with 13 goals allowed on 130 shots, which is right in line with what's expected of an organization's No. 3 netminder. The 26-year-old could remain with the team for Thursday's rematch with the Golden Knights if Martin Jones (hand) is unable to play.

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Makes brief relief appearance
Daccord played the final 1:16 of Monday's 4-1 win over the Coyotes, though he didn't face a shot.
This was a kind gesture from the Kraken to allow the Arizona State alum to play in the new barn on his alma mater's campus. Daccord continues to back up Philipp Grubauer, with Martin Jones (hand) injured. It's possible Daccord starts one of the last two games of the season, both against the Golden Knights, either in Vegas on Tuesday or in Seattle on Thursday.

Kraken's Joey Daccord: Doesn't get win out of strong start
Daccord turned aside 23 of 24 shots through overtime in a 2-1 shootout loss to Nashville on Thursday.
Daccord won his first two NHL starts of the season despite allowing four goals in each of those contests. This was his third appearance with Seattle in 2022-23, and he ended up with the loss while holding the Predators to nothing more than a marker from Kiefer Sherwood prior to the shootout. Sometimes hockey has a sense of humor. Philipp Grubauer (illness) has missed the last two games, but when he's ready to return, Daccord might be reassigned to AHL Coachella Valley.

Daccord stopped 36 of 40 shots in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Flames.
Daccord had a couple of shaky stretches in the game, but the Kraken were able to cover up his mistakes. The 26-year-old earned his first win of the season and the second of his career -- his only other victory came as a member of the Senators in 2020-21. Martin Jones (personal) is attending to a family matter away from the team, so Daccord may not have to wait long for his second start, which could come as soon as Thursday in Minnesota if Jones isn't ready to return.
