Tim Weah was stretchered off late on as Lille OSC beat Toulouse 2-0 in Ligue 1 on Saturday and the USMNT star has since been ruled out of this month's CONCACAF Nations League games.
However, the 23-year-old is undergoing the concussion return to play protocol which has forced him to withdraw from this next national team camp and he has been replaced by AZ Alkmaar's Djordje Mihailovic.
Weah was hurt in a clash with Toulouse's Vincent Sierro and although there were no immediate updates, his injury was serious enough to require the game to be paused for medical attention.
The home supporters applauded as he left the field on a stretcher with head strapping after visibly being in pain after the impact, but the American was quickly on his feet.
Weah joined his teammates in the locker room to celebrate their first win in three Ligue 1 outings after draws with RC Lens and Olympique Lyonnais and quickly took to social media to express his gratitude to the USMNT soccer fanbase and beyond.

Weah appeared to be relatively unhurt in a video recorded after the game and he thanked well wishers via another quick video shared by the club as the team returned home.
The Brooklyn native has been playing at fullback recently for Paulo Fonseca's men and went 90 in Toulouse before being stretchered off injured.
Weah has played for Paris Saint-Germain and Celtic, has had an injury-impacted spell with Les Dogues who he helped to the 2021 Ligue 1 title at PSG's expense.
Fonseca has been getting good form out of the winger in his new position of late and the fullback reconversion could stick if Lille continue to lose their defensive options.
