Johnathan Williams: To play for Kings in summer league
Williams will play for the Kings' summer league team, Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.com reports.
Williams went undrafted in 2018 and has played 39 NBA games between the Lakers and Wizards. Last season, he played overseas for Galatasaray and Chemnitz 99ers. Overall, he averaged 8.1 points and 6.3 rebounds in 20.5 minutes.

Johnathan Williams: Playing overseas
Williams signed a contract with Turkish club Galatasaray in September, Eurohoops.net reports.
The 25-year-old center finished the 2019-20 season as one of the Wizards' two-way players, but he opted to head overseas rather than exploring his opportunities at the NBA level heading into 2020-21. Williams' contract with Galatasaray presumably contains an opt-out clause that would allow him to return to the NBA if a team expresses interest in signing him.

Wizards' Johnathan Williams: Rejoins Washington on two-way pact
Williams agreed Sunday to re-sign with the Wizards on a two-way contract, Candace Buckner of The Washington Post reports.
Cut loose by the Wizards earlier this month, Williams will rejoin the organization after it opened up one of its two-way slots by converting Anzejs Pasecniks' deal to a standard NBA contract. While Williams' two-way pact will only allow him to spend up to 45 days at the NBA level, he should join the parent club right away with up to six players in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Jazz due to injury. Williams previously appeared in five games and made four starts at power forward for the Wizards, averaging 4.2 points (on 64.3 percent shooting from the floor) to go with 6.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 18.4 minutes.

Johnathan Williams: Waived by Washington
Williams was waived by the Wizards after Saturday's 128-114 win over the Nuggets, Candace Buckner of The Washington Post reports.
Williams latched on with the Wizards just after Christmas and started five consecutive games. While he provided 12 points (6-8 FG), eight rebounds and three blocks in Saturday's victory, Williams underwhelmed in his prior four starts with 3.0 points, 5.5 boards and 0.3 blocks in 14.8 minutes. He'll hit the waiver wire and will look to latch on elsewhere in the NBA as a depth option in the frontcourt.

To bolster a roster hit hard by injuries, Washington added Williams. He played overseas earlier this season, appearing in 18 games for Maccabi Rishon Lezion in Israel, averaging 11.8 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. It's unclear what kind of playing time Williams will receive, but he certainly has an opportunity to be a regular part of the rotation while the Wizards' frontcourt players recover.

Johnathan Williams: Eyeing NBA return
Williams terminated his contract with Israeli club Maccabi Rishon LeZion on Monday and is expected to sign with an NBA team this week.
John Askounis of Eurohoops.net notes that the Wizards and Celtics are the main teams pursuing Williams, with the big man most likely to end up with a banged-up Washington squad that's down several frontcourt players due to injury. After going undrafted out of Gonzaga in 2018, Williams landed a two-way contract with the Lakers and appeared in 24 NBA games as a rookie, averaging 6.5 points and 4.1 rebounds in 15.5 minutes while shooting 59.1 percent from the floor.

Rockets' Johnathan Williams: Turns in solid outing
Williams delivered 13 points (6-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and six rebounds across 26 minutes during the Rockets' 87-78 win over the Jazz in a Las Vegas Summer League game Thursday.
Williams stepped up with his best performance in summer league play, tying Gary Clark for second on the team in scoring for the night. The big man turned down a qualifying offer from the Lakers and joined the Rockets in Las Vegas, where he's trying to build a case for a chance to continue battling for a frontcourt rotation spot in the coming season.

Williams was extended a qualifying offer by the Lakers on Wednesday, making him a restricted free agent, Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times reports. If Williams accepts the qualifying offer, he becomes a two-way player.

Williams co-led the second unit in minutes and turned in a fine performance, setting a new career high in rebounds in the process. The 23-year-old rookie is one of several players benefiting from the Lakers' slew of injuries and player shutdowns, as he's now logged over 20 minutes in three of the past five games. With Kyle Kuzma (foot) potentially sitting over the final three games, Williams could be in line for similar opportunity to Thursday's for what remains of the season.

Williams tallied 18 points (9-16 FG), 10 rebounds, one assist and one block across 29 minutes in the Lakers' 120-107 loss to the Celtics on Saturday.
Williams posted career bests in both scoring and rebounds during what was his ninth appearance of the season overall. The undrafted Gonzaga product has seen plenty of run in the G-League this season, but he's now logged playing time with the Lakers in back-to-back contests. Williams could find himself a regular member of the frontcourt rotation for what remains of the regular season as the team looks to give some of its young players valuable game reps.

Johnathan Williams: Almost finishes with double-double
Williams posted 25 points (12-16 FG, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds and two assists in the 115-95 win Friday over Austin.
The two-way big man only played 26 minutes, but he still managed to lead the team in scoring, utterly decimating Austin in the paint. Williams wasn't get much run with the Lakers, so it's quite possible the team could keep their center down in the G League for more reps, which should be a major boost for prospective fantasy owners.

Williams will be with the Lakers for Thursday's matchup against the Rockets. He hasn't played in the NBA since Dec. 30, when he was given four minutes against the Kings. It's unlikely he'll see significant run Thursday.
