  • Brewers' Zach Green: Assigned to minor-league camp

Green was assigned to minor-league camp Tuesday.

Green did what he could to push to the front of a crowded group of uninspiring third-base options in Milwaukee, posting a .925 OPS in 18 spring plate appearances. That apparently wasn't good enough, however, as the fact that Green isn't on the 40-man roster was likely working against him. He could still get the call at some point this season but doesn't appear to be one of the team's top options.

  • Brewers' Zach Green: Making push for roster spot

Green went 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, two RBI and two runs in Tuesday's spring game against the Giants.

The Brewers' third-base situation remains relatively unsettled, and Green is doing his best to throw his name in the ring, tallying three extra-base hits and five RBI over his last three games. He has appeared in just eight MLB games, but he did impress in the most-recent minor-league season he played, putting up 25 home runs, 64 RBI and a 1.039 OPS over 72 games -- albeit in the hitter-friendly PCL -- with Triple-A Sacramento in 2019.

  • Brewers' Zach Green: Gets invite to Brewers camp

Green signed a minor-league deal with the Brewers that includes an invitation to big-league camp on Thursday.

Green parlayed a big spring training last year with the Giants to an invite to their alternate training site, but he never got the call to the majors. He hit .282/.380/.659 in the Pacific Coast League in 2019 and will likely compete to make the Brewers' roster as a right-handed bench bat.

  • Giants' Zach Green: In 60-man player pool

Green made the Giants' 60-man roster.

Green hit .438 with three home runs in 18 plate appearances this spring, which may have contributed to his inclusion on the summer camp roster. He could backup Evan Longoria at third base and could also get the occassional start at designated hitter.

  • Giants' Zach Green: Impresses in spring training

Green hit .438 with three home runs, one double and a 5:2 K:BB in 18 plate appearances this spring.

He was in camp on a minor-league deal, and while he did his best to impress the Giants' decision makers, Maria Guardado of MLB.com suggests Green is unlikely to break camp on the 26-man roster due to the fact Wilmer Flores and Donovan Solano are ahead of him on the depth chart as backup options behind Evan Longoria at third base.

  • Giants' Zach Green: Healthy in spring training

Green (hip) will start at third base and bat ninth in Monday's Cactus League game against the Diamondbacks.

Green will be making his third appearance of the spring after going 1-for-2 with a base hit between his first two contests. The 25-year-old looks healthy again after his 2019 season ended about three weeks early due to a left hip impingement, but he has little chance of winning an Opening Day role with the big club after being outrighted off the 40-man roster in November.

  • Giants' Zach Green: Accepts outright assignment

Green (hip) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list and outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.

Green made his big-league debut in 2019, going 2-for-14 in eight games. His season ended prematurely in early September due to a hip impingement, though it's not clear if the issue will affect him at all next season.

  • Giants' Zach Green: Done for season with hip injury

Green was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento and placed on the 60-day injured list with a left hip impingement Saturday.

Green got into his first eight career big-league games this season, going 2-for-16 at the plate. He'll have to wait until next year to audition for his next opportunity.

  • Giants' Zach Green: Sent to minors

Green was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Amy Gutierrez of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Green was recalled from Triple-A on July 21 and went 2-for-14 with one double and one RBI during his first taste of the majors. Evan Longoria (foot) was activated off the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Giants' Zach Green: Officially recalled and starting

Green was officially recalled prior to Sunday's contest against the Mets.

Green had his contract selected and will immediately jump into the Giants' lineup, starting at third base and batting sixth Sunday. He flashed plenty of power with Triple-A Sacramento this season, smacking 23 home runs and posting a 1.099 OPS.

  • Giants' Zach Green: To be promoted

Green is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Green will make his major-league debut and has earned the promotion, smacking 23 home runs and posting a 1.099 OPS with Sacramento this season. The 25-year-old was a third-round pick in the 2012 draft and has played primarily at third and first base in the minors. He may get a chance at the hot corner with Evan Longoria (foot) still at least a week away from returning to the field.

  • Phillies' Zach Green: Earns promotion to Triple-A

Green was promoted to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Thursday, The Athletic Philadelphia reports.

Finally healthy after several injury-wracked seasons, Green has hit the ball hard so far this year, posting a .296/.375/.578 line with 17 homers in 77 games for Double-A Reading. The injuries, which led to both hip surgery and Tommy John surgery, have taken most of the shine off the 2012 third-round pick, but the Phillies have a relative weakness at third base, opening a potential path for the young slugger. If Green can keep up a similar level of success following his promotion, the 24-year-old could be given a major-league look late in the season.

  • Phillies' Zach Green: Will play in Arizona Fall League

Green will play in the Arizona Fall League this year, Corey Seidman of CSN Philadelphia reports.

Green, 23, was promoted to Double-A Reading earlier this month despite only hitting .221/.276/.393 with five home runs in 140 at-bats for High-A Clearwater. The 2012 third-round pick isn't considered much of a prospect, but he'll get a chance to make an impression in the AFL this offseason.

  • Phillies' Zach Green: Striking out too much at High-A

Green is hitting .255/.317/.413 with 21 doubles and 11 home runs in 317 at-bats for High-A Clearwater.

Green, 22, is spending his second season at Clearwater after missing significant time with an injury last season. The former third-round pick is showing good power, but his 97 strikeouts in 85 games indicate he has some major holes in his swing.
