Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Moving to shortstop
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Betts will be the team's shortstop moving forward, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Roberts referred to the move as "permanent, for now." Betts and Gavin Lux are flip-flopping infield positions due to the latter's defensive issues at shortstop. Betts did start 12 games at shortstop last season, so the position isn't totally foreign to him, but he's been an outfielder for the overwhelming majority of his career so asking him to become a full-time shortstop at 31 years old is ambitious. For fantasy purposes, Betts will pick up a third position of eligibility early on this season.

Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Playing 2B exclusively this spring
Betts said Thursday that he expects to play second base exclusively this spring, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Betts even joked that he didn't bring his right fielder's glove to spring training. While the 31-year-old undoubtedly could return to right field if a need arises there, this emphasizes the point that the Dodgers are committed to Betts as a full-time second baseman. Betts made 62 starts at the keystone in 2023, more than doubling his career total coming into the year.
