Kyle Lewis: Non-tendered by Arizona
Lewis became a free agent after being non-tendered by the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Lewis won American League Rookie of the Year honors with the Mariners in 2020, but he's slashed just .150/.216/.280 over 116 major-league plate appearances since the beginning of the 2022 campaign. The 28-year-old played in only 16 games with the NL champions in 2023.

Diamondbacks' Kyle Lewis: Returns to Reno
Lewis was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Monday.
Lewis was called up last week and did have a multi-hit game, but he also posted a .325 OPS over 19 plate appearances, so the Diamondbacks decided to remove him from the roster to open up a spot for the returning Evan Longoria.

Diamondbacks' Kyle Lewis: Two hits in win
Lewis started at designated hitter and went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Wednesday's 9-7 win over Colorado.
Lewis doubled in the first inning and came home on Christian Walker's home run to give the Diamondbacks an early lead. Later in the game, Lourdes Gurriel was removed due to hip pain, the result of a play during Tuesday's game. As both are right-handed batters, Lewis is an ideal replacement should Gurriel's injury linger.

Diamondbacks' Kyle Lewis: Recalled from Triple-A
Lewis was recalled Monday from Triple-A Reno, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
Lewis has mostly struggled this season at the major-league level, but he boasts a .361/.463/.650 batting line with 14 homers and 56 RBI in 47 games for Reno, and he'd been on a tear on the farm over the last few weeks. Jake McCarthy was optioned out in a corresponding roster move as the quickly-fading Diamondbacks try to ride the hot hand.

Arizona optioned Lewis to Triple-A Reno on Thursday.
This move frees up a 26-man roster spot for Tommy Pham, who was acquired from the Mets ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline and will officially report to the Diamondbacks ahead of Thursday's series finale in San Francisco. Lewis has batted just .182/.229/.303 in 35 plate appearances this season at the major-league level.

With Dominic Canzone headed to Seattle as part of the Paul Sewald deal, Arizona will bring up Lewis to fill the gaps in its active roster. Lewis holds a 1.040 OPS through 181 plate appearances in Triple-A this season, but he's had minimal success in the majors since 2022.

The Diamondbacks optioned Lewis to Triple-A Reno on Saturday.
Lewis was called up from Reno at the end of June, and he'll now return to the minors after going 3-for-15 over five games. Lewis holds a .950 OPS in Triple-A this season, and it's possible he makes it back to Arizona later this sumer if he can catch fire again in the minors. Tyler Gilbert was selected from Reno in a corresponding move.

Diamondbacks' Kyle Lewis: Fills in for Carroll
Lewis entered Thursday's game after Corbin Carroll was removed due to a shoulder injury and want 0-for-2.
Carroll left immediately following a swing in the sixth inning and is set to undergo an MRI on Friday. More will be learned about the length of Carroll's absence following the exam, but it's safe to assume the Diamondbacks will hold him out through the All-Star break at a minimum. That means Lewis or Dominic Fletcher will be used this weekend against the Pirates. Lewis is 1-for-11 since being called up from Triple-A Reno on June 30.

Diamondbacks' Kyle Lewis: Starts at DH on Saturday
Lewis served as the designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with two walks in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Angels.
Lewis made his first appearance since being called up from Triple-A Reno on Friday. He opened the season as a lineup regular before an undisclosed illness shelved him for two months. With the Diamondbacks humming along atop the NL West, it's unlikely Lewis will move into a significant role going forward. Lewis and Dominic Fletcher were called up while Corbin Carroll rehabs a shoulder injury, which has not required a stint on the injured list.

Diamondbacks' Kyle Lewis: Called up Friday
Lewis was called up from Triple-A Reno on Friday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
Lewis will return to the majors for the first time since early April after posting a .308/.402/.548 slash line with six homers over 26 games with Reno. The 28-year-old will look to maintain that success in the big leagues, and he'll replace Pavin Smith on the major-league roster after the latter was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

The Diamondbacks reinstated Lewis (illness) from the 10-day injured list Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Reno, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Lewis is evidently over the undiclosed illness which has kept him sidelined since early April. However, the Diamondbacks decided they don't have a spot for him on the major-league club right now, so he'll remain in Reno, where he had been on his rehab assignment.

Lewis (undisclosed illness) went 2-for-5 with a walk, two home runs and four RBI for Triple-A Reno on Sunday.
Lewis began a rehab assignment at Reno last week and is 6-for-23 with a double, three home runs and 10 RBI over five games. "He's pushing in the right direction. It's a matter of him building endurance," Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said. He'll return to Reno's lineup Tuesday after getting Monday off.
