  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Three hits Tuesday

Cronenworth went 3-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Rockies.

Tuesday was Cronenworth's second three-hit effort of the year and his first since the team's opening series in Japan. Despite a productive evening, Cronenworth has been struggling to hit lately and does not have an extra-base knock since homering April 12. Over his last eight games, the 30-year-old is slashing just .200/.351/.200 with one RBI, four runs and a 7:5 BB:K.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Back in lineup Friday

Cronenworth (calf) is starting at first base and hitting third in the lineup for Friday's game against the Blue Jays, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Cronenworth left Monday's game against the Brewers after experiencing calf tightness. He sat out the Padres' last two games, and the team's day off Thursday has given the 30-year-old enough time to recover. Cronenworth is slashing .254/.333/.465 with three home runs and 14 RBI over 81 plate appearances to start the season.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Out for second straight game

Cronenworth (calf) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Cronenworth will get a second straight game off to heal up from a tight calf that forced him out of Monday's 7-3 win in the series opener. The Padres are hoping that a pair of days off plus Thursday's team off day will provide sufficient time for Cronenworth to recover before the start of this weekend's three-game series with Toronto. Matthew Batten will spell Cronenworth at first base Wednesday.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Sitting out with calf injury

Cronenworth (calf) is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Milwaukee.

Cronenworth was pulled from Monday's contest with calf tightness, so it's no surprise to see him sitting a day later. The good news is that he has not been placed on the injured list as the Padres brought up Matthew Batten as infield protection, projecting some apparent optimism that it's a day-to-day situation for Cronenworth. Jurickson Profar will handle first base Tuesday, while Jose Azocar will be in left field.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Nursing calf issue

Cronenworth left Monday's game against the Brewers after experiencing tightness in his calf, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Cronenworth reportedly felt the issue while trying to reach base on a groundout during the eighth inning, but skipper Mike Shildt said after the game that it's too early to know if the injury will force Cronenworth to miss additional time. The 30-year-old will be considered day-to-day until the medical staff has more information to share.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Launches homer Friday

Cronenworth went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in an extra-innings 8-7 win against the Dodgers on Friday.

Cronenworth's lone hit in the contest was a sixth-inning solo blast that brought San Diego within three runs. It was his third homer of the campaign, all of which have come over his past four contests. Cronenworth hit 21 long balls in 2021 but went deep just 10 times over 521 plate appearances last season.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Continues hot start

Cronenworth went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and two walks in Monday's 9-8 win versus the Cubs.

The Padres went down 8-0 before Cronenworth began a spirited comeback with a two-run homer in the sixth inning. The long ball was the first of the year for the first baseman, but he's produced offense in other ways, as he currently leads the team with 11 total RBI. Cronenworth has reached base safely in 10 of 13 contests and is slashing .313/.382/.500 through 56 plate appearances.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Drives in two

Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a two-RBI double during Thursday's 6-4 win over the Giants.

Cronenworth plated Xander Bogaerts and Jackson Merrill on a seventh-inning double as part of a four-run frame for the Padres. He's now generated multiple RBI in back-to-back games dating back to San Diego's two-game series in South Korea against the Dodgers and has already driven in six on the season.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Records four RBI in victory

Cronenworth went 4-for-4 with a triple, a double, two runs and four RBI in Thursday's 15-11 win against the Dodgers in the second game of the Seoul Series.

Cronenworth had a rough season-opener Wednesday, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts and committing a key error when a batted ball broke through the webbing of his glove. He bounced back with a big performance one day later, reaching in all five plate appearances (in addition to the four knocks, he was also hit by a pitch) and driving in four runs. Cronenworth's four hits tied his career-high mark, which he initially set July 16, 2021 against Washington.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Starting in spring opener

Cronenworth (wrist) will start at first base and bat third in Thursday's Cactus League game against the Dodgers.

Cronenworth didn't play after Aug. 25 last season due to a fractured right wrist, but he avoided surgery to address the injury and appears to have experienced no limitations thus far in spring training. With Xander Bogaerts making the move to second base in 2024 and Ha-Seong Kim entrenched as an everyday starter at shortstop, Cronenworth should see an even higher volume of starts at first base during the upcoming season than he did in 2023, when he made 94 starts at the position. Cronenworth is still expected to carry middle-infield eligibility in most leagues this season after he made 30 starts at the keystone in 2023.
