The team hasn't announced a corresponding move, but it could mean Tyrone Taylor (elbow) will return from the injured list Tuesday. Perkins went 1-for-12 at the dish in his first stint in the majors.

The switch-hitting Perkins will stick in the lineup for the third game in a row, this time facing off against a lefty (Matthew Boyd) after going 1-for-5 with a run scored across a pair of starts versus right-handers (Garrett Whitlock and Brayan Bello) over the weekend. The Brewers seem to be giving Perkins a look as an everyday player in the outfield in the wake of Garrett Mitchell's (shoulder) long-term absence, but Perkins is still expected to have a short leash and will need to begin producing at the plate in order to maintain a regular role.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Joining big club
The Brewers recalled Perkins from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
He'll be joining the big club as a replacement on the 26-man active roster for Garrett Mitchell (shoulder), who was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. The 26-year-old Perkins received the call-up over top outfield prospect Sal Frelick, who is dealing with a jammed thumb. Over his 54 plate appearances at Nashville this season, Perkins slashed .292/.370/.417 with a home run and a stolen base. While Christian Yelich and Joey Wiemer will likely continue to handle everyday roles in the outfield, the Brewers still have an opening that could potentially go to either Perkins or Owen Miller. The switch-hitting Perkins could end up occupying the larger side of a platoon with the righty-hitting Miller.

Perkins managed to score a major-league contract from Milwaukee this winter, but he will not be part of the Opening Day roster. The 26-year-old outfielder put up an .813 OPS with 15 home runs and 21 stolen bases in 101 games last season between the Double-A and Triple-A affiliates of the Yankees.

Brewers' Blake Perkins: Signs with Crew
Perkins signed a one-year contract with the Brewers on Wednesday.
After recording a .821 OPS between the Double-A and Triple-A levels in 2022, Perkins has earned his first major-league deal. He will likely begin the season in Triple-A Nashville considering he only played 30 games at that level in 2021, but he will serve as another option to play in Milwaukee's outfield at some point in 2023 following the departure of Hunter Renfroe.

Nationals' Blake Perkins: Big day for Low-A Hagerstown
Perkins went 4-for-5 with two doubles, four runs scored and an RBI in Low-A Hagerstown's win over Lakewood on Thursday.
The 2015 second-round pick is showing signs of turning his impressive tools into production on the diamond. Perkins fits the mold of the prototypical Nats minor-league center fielder in the Mike Rizzo era, as he has excellent speed and defensive instincts while needing work on the offensive side of the ball, but the 20-year-old switch hitter is now slashing .286/.361/.367 through 36 games for Hagerstown this season with nine steals in 12 attempts. At 6-foot-1 but only 165 pounds, he may never develop much over-the-fence power, but he should be able to sting the ball into the gaps regularly as he matures. In a system that boasts Victor Robles and Andrew Stevenson, Perkins' future path may not take him to Washington if he does eventually crack a 25-man roster, but the organization's No. 15 prospect could move up the rankings quickly if he continues to put things together at the plate.
