Mariners' Cade Marlowe: Sent down to Triple-A
The Mariners optioned Marlowe to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.
Marlowe will probably be needed at some point, especially with the injury-prone Mitch Haniger slated for everyday left field duties. For now, though, he'll head to Tacoma, where he will play regularly.

Mariners' Cade Marlowe: Productive in Cactus League loss
Marlowe went 2-for-2 with an RBI single, a double, a stolen base and two runs in the Mariners' Cactus League loss to the White Sox on Thursday.
Marlowe was reasonably effective during his first taste of the majors last season, posting a .239/.330/.420 slash line with eight extra-base hits (three doubles, two triples, three home runs), 11 RBI and four stolen bases among his contributions. The 26-year-old, who's capable of slotting in across the outfield, had opened spring training in a brief 0-for-6 skid before Thursday's breakout.

Mariners' Cade Marlowe: Dispatched to Triple-A
The Mariners optioned Marlowe to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
Marlowe will move off the Mariners' 28-man active roster to clear room for Jarred Kelenic (foot), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. While Kelenic had been sidelined since July 20 with the foot injury, Marlowe enjoyed about a month-long run as the Mariners' primary left fielder, but he had faded into more of a fourth- or fifth-outfielder role in recent weeks. Marlowe ends his first stint in the big leagues with a .239/.330/.420 slash line to go with three home runs, four stolen bases, 11 RBI and 14 runs over 100 plate appearances.

The rookie returned from a day off in Sunday's series finale against the Astros to hit safely for the third time in the last four games. Marlowe now sports an impressive .268/.366/.451 slash line across his first 82 big-league plate appearances, with the firs two metrics notably better than the respective .254 and .335 figures generated at Triple-A Tacoma during a combined 82 games there between 2022 and earlier this season.

Marlowe's multi-hit effort out of the No. 8 spot in the order was his third in the last six games, a torrid stretch where's posted a .389 average and 1.006 OPS across 20 plate appearances. The rookie's busy night Wednesday resulted in a 30-point boost in his season average to .308, and he's also now sporting an elite .977 OPS. Both figures are a byproduct of the above-average plate discipline the 26-year-old has impressively displayed during his first foray versus big-league arms, one that's also helped generate a 15.2 percent walk rate and modest 19.6 percent strikeout rate.

Marlowe went 2-for-4 with a grand slam Thursday in a 5-3 win against the Angels.
Marlowe came up to the plate to face Angels closer Carlos Estevez with one out and the bases loaded in the top of the ninth inning and Seattle down two runs. He began the at-bat by whiffing on two straight pitches before playing the hero by swatting a grand slam on a 99-mph fastball. It was the highlight so far in a strong start to Marlowe's MLB career. Though 35 plate appearances, he's slashing .333/.429/.667 with two homers, six RBI, six runs and two stolen bases. Thursday was the third multi-hit game of his MLB career.
