The Twins optioned Camargo to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday.
Camargo operated as the Twins' third catcher for a bit, which enabled Ryan Jeffers to see more work as a designated hitter. However, with Max Kepler (knee) returning from the 10-day injured list Monday, Camargo was deemed an expendable piece and will now head back to Triple-A to play regularly.

Camargo was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul prior to Saturday's doubleheader against the Tigers.
The 24-year-old catcher was slashing .268/.362/.463 with two home runs and 10 strikeouts in 11 games for Triple-A St. Paul and he was league average (100 wRC+) in 90 games at Triple-A last year. Ryan Jeffers and Christian Vazquez are still active, so Camargo will likely play sparingly in the short term. If he gets into a game, it would be his big-league debut.

The Twins selected Camargo's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Monday, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Camargo had been set for minor-league free agency, but the Twins will add him to the 40-man roster to prevent that from happening. The 24-year-old batted .259/.323/.503 with 21 home runs this season with St. Paul. He has not appeared in the majors.

The Twins reassigned Camargo to minor-league camp Wednesday, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.
Camargo reached Double-A for the first time last season, slashing .227/.296/.426 in 196 plate appearances. He had a less-than-stellar spring, however, going just 1-for-9 at the plate with four strikeouts. The 23-year-old catching prospect will likely return to Double-A Wichita with a chance to advance to Triple-A at some point in the year.

Camargo has been promoted to Double-A Wichita. He was hitting .296/.314/.496 with six home runs at High-A Cedar Rapids.
At 22, Camargo was a little old for his level so Double-A will be a better test. Though not thought of as a top prospect, he's a catcher with power who could continue to advance. He'll need to improve a very low 2.5 percent walk rate.
