Adon was called up to fill Josiah Gray's (elbow) spot in the Nationals' rotation after Gray was moved to the 15-day injured list. Adon's only run allowed came in the third inning when Patrick Bailey plated Thairo Estrada on a sacrifice fly. While Adon didn't blow the Giants out of the water, one run over four innings is likely enough to earn him another start. However, with Adon not fully stretched out -- 72 pitches Tuesday -- and given his 6.71 ERA as a starter before this season, he'll be tough to trust in fantasy during his time in the rotation. Adon's next start is tentatively scheduled to come Monday against the Dodgers.

He's been tagged with 16 runs over his last four starts, registering a brutal 7.58 ERA during that stretch. He's lost three straight decisions and owns a 6.28 ERA on the year. Adon struggled from the start, giving up a hit to each of the first two batters he faced in the contest. The right-hander didn't post any clean innings but hung in until the fifth, when a Jazz Chisholm three-run blast put the Marlins ahead 5-0. That was more than enough to tag Adon with his first loss of the year in a game during which Washington managed just one run. The Dominican hurler looks to be set for a rotation spot over the final month of the campaign, but his 5.90 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB over 29 innings on the season don't portend fantasy relevance in most formats.

  Adon (2-0) picked up the win Friday, yielding two hits and no walks over six shutout innings in a 7-4 victory over the Marlins. He struck out three. Adon carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning before Jazz Chisholm hit a single up the middle. The Marlins added an additional single in the frame, but Adon escaped unscathed by getting Josh Bell swinging. The biggest number of the night for Adon was the zero free passes, as the 25-year-old has struggled with his control in his career. This was his six appearance and fourth start for the Nationals this season and he's expected to remain in their rotation the rest of the way. Outings like the one he put up Friday in Miami figure to be atypical, however.

Washington is going to roll with a six-man rotation the rest of the way -- or at least attempt to -- in order to manage the workloads of young starters MacKenzie Gore, Josiah Gray and Jake Irvin. Adon looked sharp in his first start of the season last Saturday versus the Reds, tallying seven strikeouts with no walks over six innings. He was charged with three earned runs in the final frame after retiring the first 17 batters he faced. Adon will tentatively line up to make his next start either Friday or Saturday versus the Athletics.

Adon started Saturday and wound up allowing three earned runs over six innings, but he also gave up just three hits and posted a 7:0 K:BB, and that was good enough to keep him with the big club for the time being. It remains to be seen, though, if the 24-year-old will start next time through the rotation or shift to the bullpen when Trevor Williams returns from the bereavement list.

Adon will now make regular turns in the Triple-A rotation with the Nationals having settled on Paolo Espino and Jackson Tetreault as the back-end options in its rotation until at least one of Stephen Strasburg (ribs) or Anibal Sanchez (neck) returns from the injured list.
