Yankees' Clayton Andrews: Joining Bronx Bombers
Andrews was acquired by the Yankees from the Brewers on Wednesday in exchange for minor-league pitcher Joshua Quezada.
Andrews was designated for assignment by the Brewers last week, and the Yankees elected to trade for him rather than risk another team claiming him through the waiver wire. The Brewers designated Andrews for assignment Wednesday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
The signing of Jakob Junis became official Wednesday, causing Andrews to lose his spot on the 40-man roster. Andrews struggled during his brief time in the majors, allowing 10 earned runs in just 3.1 innings across four appearances. He put together a 2.53 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in Triple-A, however, making it possible another team gives him a chance off the waiver wire.

Brewers' Clayton Andrews: Sent to ACL
The Brewers optioned Andrews to the Arizona Complex League on Saturday
After giving up two runs over 1.2 frames Friday, Andrews will be sent to the Brewers' facility in Arizona and remain on stand-by should the team need him during its postseason run. The 26-year-old has been lit up over the course of his four MLB appearances, so it's unlikely he sees action in the playoffs barring an emergency situation. He will be joined in Arizona by Caleb Boushley, and Eric Lauer and Trevor Megill (paternity) will take their places on the active roster.

Brewers' Clayton Andrews: Up from Nashville
The Brewers recalled Andrews from Triple-A Nashville on Friday.
Andrews had a largely successful season with Nashville, recording a 2.53 ERA and 1.23 WHIP through 57 innings. He has not had the same success at the major-league level, giving up eight earned runs over just 1.2 innings in three appearances. Nonetheless, Andrews will replace Ethan Small on the roster and could see action during Milwaukee's series against the Cubs if the Brewers opt to keep their primary bullpen pieces fresh for the playoffs.

Andrews was called up from Nashville after being solid out of the bullpen with a 2.57 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. However, in his one outing after being called up, he gave up three earned runs without being able to record an out. In a corresponding move, Thyago Vieira was selected from Triple-A.
