  • Phillies' Dalton Guthrie: Off roster for World Series

Guthrie was left of Philadelphia's roster for the World Series on Friday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Guthrie was added to the roster for the NLDS and appeared in only one game during the past two series. The 26-year-old will have to wait until 2023 before retaking the field, unless he's added to the roster as an injury replacement.

  • Phillies' Dalton Guthrie: Added to roster for NLDS

Guthrie joined the Phillies' roster for the NLDS against Atlanta, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Guthrie got his first taste of the big leagues this season and went on to hit .333/.500/.476 in a tiny sample of 28 plate appearances. He was left off the previous round against the Cardinals but will replace Nick Maton for the Atlanta series, with the Phillies preferring to have a right-handed bat on the bench.

  • Phillies' Dalton Guthrie: Absent from wild-card roster

Guthrie was left off Philadelphia's roster for the NL Wild Card Series against the Cardinals on Friday, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Guthrie was called up for his first taste of the majors in September and went 7-for-21 with a home run, five RBI and a stolen base in 14 games. Edmundo Sosa (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day IL to bolster the Phillies' infield depth.

  • Phillies' Dalton Guthrie: Slams first career homer

Guthrie went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two walks and an additional RBI in Tuesday's 18-11 loss to the Blue Jays.

With Brandon Marsh exiting the contest early due to a left knee injury, Guthrie came off the bench to provide a lift for the Philadelphia lineup. The home run was the first of Guthrie's career as well as his first extra-base hit; his prior four hits since his call-up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley earlier this month had gone for singles. Guthrie could see a slight uptick in opportunities to close out the regular season if Marsh's knee injury is serious enough to send him to the 10-day injured list.

  • Phillies' Dalton Guthrie: Gets first MLB call-up

The Phillies selected Guthrie's contract from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

A 2017 sixth-round draft pick, the 26-year-old Guthrie will make his first trip to the big leagues as a replacement on the active roster for Nick Castellanos (oblique), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. According to Gelb, interim manager Rob Thomson had planned to start Guthrie in right field in place of Castellanos in Sunday's game against the Giants, but the rookie's flight hadn't landed in San Francisco at the time the Phillies chose to post their lineup. Nick Maton will get the nod in right field Sunday, but expect a combination of him, Guthrie and Matt Vierling to handle the position while Castellanos is on the shelf. Guthrie slashed .302/.363/.476 with 10 home runs and 21 stolen bases in 374 plate appearances at Triple-A this season.
