Junk was just called up from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday and filled in for Brandon Woodruff, who was recently moved to the 15-day injured list with a shoulder injury. The young right-hander struggled early and often, but his biggest blemish came on a three-run homer by Lourdes Gurriel in the third, which gave Arizona a 4-0 lead. Junk figures to remain in the rotation for another turn or two, but he's currently not an attractive streaming option.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell confirmed after Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Diamondbacks that Junk will start the series finale in Arizona on Wednesday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
As expected after he was called up from Triple-A Nashville earlier Tuesday, Junk will be filling the rotation spot of Brandon Woodruff (shoulder), who was moved to the 15-day injured list. Unless he's needed out of the bullpen in Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Junk will be joining the rotation as a replacement for Brandon Woodruff, who was placed on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation. Over his first two outings at Nashville, Junk has turned in a 0.90 ERA and 0.80 WHIP across 10 innings. Junk should be reasonably stretched out for Wednesday's start, but his poor track record in a limited sample of big-league action with the Angels in 2021 and 2022 makes him a risky streaming option.
Junk was optioned Monday to Triple-A Nashville by the Brewers, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Acquired by the Brewers in the Hunter Renfroe deal over the winter, Junk allowed six runs in 8.1 innings for the Angels prior to being dealt and spent most of last season at the Triple-A level. The right-hander will likely be an up-and-down option for the Brewers in the 2023 season.
Junk was traded from the Angels to the Brewers on Tuesday along with Elvis Peguero and Adam Seminaris in exchange for Hunter Renfroe.
Junk was acquired by the Angels from the Yankees at the trade deadline in 2021, and he's now on the move once again. The 26-year-old has a 4.74 ERA across 24.2 innings since he made his debut for the Angels in 2021. He worked as a starter at Triple-A last season and had a 4.64 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 69:18 K:BB across 73.2 innings, but his cleanest path to a roster spot in Milwaukee will come as a reliever.
