The Angels reassigned Vieaux to minor-league camp Tuesday. Vieaux made his major-league debut with the Pirates last season, allowing 10 earned runs over 8.2 innings though he also managed to strike out 15 batters in that time. Vieaux was outrighted to Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports. Vieaux was optioned at the end of August and designated for assignment a week later. The Pirates optioned Vieaux to Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday. He was sent out to Indianapolis to clear a spot in the bullpen for Miguel Yajure, who is capable of offering more length in a relief role after being deployed as a starter at Triple-A. Vieaux's removal from the 40-man roster opens up a spot for outfielder Jake Marisnick (thumb), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move. Before he was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis last Wednesday, Vieaux appeared in five games out of the Pittsburgh bullpen and was charged with eight earned runs on 11 hits and four walks over five innings.... Pirates' Cam Vieaux: Retreats to minors
The Pirates optioned Vieaux to Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday. After getting his first big-league call-up June 17, Vieaux quickly rose up the bullpen depth chart upon striking out six over 3.2 scoreless innings in his first three appearances. Things unraveled for him thereafter, however, as he retired only one of the four batters he faced in a June 29 outing in Washington, then was lit up for eight runs (seven earned) over an inning of relief against Milwaukee two days later. Vieaux hadn't been used since that appearance and will now head back to the minors with Pittsburgh needing to open up a spot on the active roster for fellow reliever Yerry De Los Santos, who was reinstated from the COVID-19-related injured list....
