Leahy received his first call-up of 2024 on Tuesday, serving as the Cardinals' 27th man for the twin bill. He came on in relief of starter Steven Matz in the Cardinals' 11-6 loss in Game 2, taking the loss while allowing two earned runs on two hits in 1.1 innings.

Leahy will be the club's 27th man for Tuesday's doubleheader in Detroit and is likely to be sent back down afterward. The right-handed reliever was removed from St. Louis' 40-man roster over the offseason, but he's made his way back on after holding a 5.84 ERA and 14:4 K:BB over 12.1 innings this season at Memphis.

Leahy was brought onto the Cardinals' 40-man roster in July and made three appearances before being optioned back to Triple-A. He surrendered four earned runs over just 1.2 innings in the majors, and he posted a 6.37 ERA across 83.1 frames with Memphis. Barring a significant improvement, Leahy doesn't project to contribute significantly in the majors next season.
