Nationals' Hobie Harris: Sent to minors
Harris was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Saturday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
Harris, who turns 30 in June, made a big-league roster for the first time when he cracked the Nationals' Opening Day roster, but he hasn't impressed during his time with the team. In 18.1 innings, he's struck out nine batters and walked 12 while struggling to a 5.40 ERA and 1.80 WHIP. Chad Kuhl (foot) was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move.

Nationals' Hobie Harris: Added to roster ahead of opener
The Nationals selected Harris' contract Thursday.
The 29-year-old right-hander will be part of the Nationals' Opening Day bullpen after he impressed in spring training, where he allowed just one earned run on three hits and two walks while striking out seven over 10 innings in Grapefruit League play. Harris will likely begin his first stint in the big leagues as a low-leverage arm but could quickly work his way up the pecking order in Washington.

Nationals' Hobie Harris: Cracks Opening Day roster
Harris had his contract selected by the Nationals on Tuesday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
It's a cool story, as the 29-year-old Harris will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game following eight years in the minors with four different organization. He earned the bullpen spot by allowing just one run with a 7:2 K:BB over 10 Grapefruit League innings.

Nationals' Hobie Harris: In mix for bullpen spot
Harris could break camp in the big-league bullpen, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
The 29-year-old right-hander has yet to make his MLB debut, but Harris has ridden his plus splitter to a 0.00 ERA and 6:1 K:BB across eight innings this spring. The Nationals' bullpen picture is extremely murky behind Kyle Finnegan, so if Harris does win a spot, he could work his way into high-leverage spots fairly quickly. Even if he begins the season with Triple-A Rochester, he could be one of the first arms called up when the Nats' bullpen needs reinforcements.

Nationals' Hobie Harris: Inks deal with Washington
Harris signed a minor-league contract with the Nationals on Monday, which includes an invitation to spring training, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Harris spent the 2022 campaign in the Brewers' organization pitching for Triple-A Nashville, posting a strong 2.04 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with a 56:28 K:BB across 53 innings. He'll look to improve upon his walks issued in 2023 and certainly has the potential to contribute out of the Nationals' bullpen if he can piece together an impressive spring camp.
