The Dodgers outrighted Lipcius to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday after he cleared waivers. Lipcius will remain in the Dodgers organization, but he'll face a tougher path to seeing action with the big club now that he's no longer a member of the 40-man roster. He posted a .742 OPS over 38 plate appearances with the Tigers late in the 2023 season, but after being traded to the Dodgers in March, Lipcius was unable to make enough of an impression in spring training to earn a spot on the club's season-opening roster.... Dodgers' Andre Lipcius: Designated for assignment
The Dodgers designated Lipcius for assignment Saturday, J.P. Hoornstra of DodgersNation.com reports. He's the 40-man roster casualty as the Dodgers freed up a spot for Daniel Hudson. It's the second time in a little over two weeks that Lipcius has been designated for assignment, as the Tigers flipped him to the Dodgers in a trade shortly after removing him from their 40-man roster.... Dodgers' Andre Lipcius: Sent to Oklahoma City
Lipcius was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports. Lipcius was acquired by the Dodgers on Monday, and he appeared in two Cactus League games with the team before being sent down, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. The infielder will now look to perform well while in Triple-A in an attempt to get called up to the majors at some point this summer.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Andre Lipcius: Acquired by Dodgers
The Dodgers acquired Lipcius from the Tigers on Monday in exchange for cash considerations, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Lipcius had been designated for assignment and now finds himself in a new organization. The 25-year-old has little shot to crack the Dodgers' Opening Day roster but will give them some infield depth at Triple-A Oklahoma City.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Andre Lipcius: Designated for assignment
The Tigers designated Lipcius for assignment Thursday. Lipcius will be squeezed off the 40-man roster in order to make room for Buddy Kennedy, who was claimed off waivers from St. Louis on Thursday. Lipcius spent most of last season in Triple-A Toledo, slashing .272/.363/.419 across 360 plate appearances. He also managed 10 hits in 13 games upon reaching the majors and could receive a bit of attention from other clubs while on the waiver wire.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Andre Lipcius: Hits first MLB home run
Lipcius went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 10-0 win over the White Sox. Lipcius connected in the first inning against Chicago starter Mike Clevinger, giving him his first home run at the MLB level in his second game after hitting 11 long balls for Triple-A Toledo this season across 97 games. The 25-year-old looks mostly like a depth option for the Tigers at this point, though they could give him more playing time down the stretch as they turn their focus to 2024.... See More ... Tigers' Andre Lipcius: Recalled from Triple-A
Lipcius was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Friday. Lipcius has slashed .272/.363/.419 with 11 home runs in 97 games this season with Toledo. The 25-year-old can play all over the infield and can also handle left field in a pinch. He'll be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Andre Lipcius: Set for callup
The Tigers will recall Lipcius on Friday. Lipcius was impressive during spring training, posting a .909 OPS with three home runs across 41 at-bats. He's gone on to post a respectable season with Triple-A Toledo by maintaining a .272/.363/.412 line across 416 plate appearances, though that's translated to just a 96 wRC+. It's unclear what his role may be in Detroit, as both Matt Vierling and Zack Short are likely ahead of him on the third base depth chart.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Andre Lipcius: Optioned to Triple-A
Lipcius was optioned to Triple-A Toledo by the Tigers on Tuesday. Lipcius has had a nice spring with a .909 OPS and three home runs. The 24-year-old is capable of playing all over the infield and could find himself in a utility role in Detroit before long.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Andre Lipcius: Blasts third spring home run
Lipcius went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals. Lipcius has had an impressive start to his spring, as he now has three home runs and a 1.600 OPS across 15 at-bats. The 24-year-old was added to the 40-man roster in November, and after a productive 2022 split between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo, Lipcius could be in line for his MLB debut at some point in 2023. He figures to play some at second base and third base whenever he reaches the majors.... See More ... See Less

Dodgers Nation@DodgersNation3H agoThere were a ton of people questioning Yoshinobu Yamamoto after a rough debut in Korea. It’s been amazing to see him not only bounce back from then but also the support he’s had from his Dodgers teammates the whole time. This 2024 squad is a unit and the best is yet to come 💙 https://t.co/cZ7Y3JhqDR

Bill Plunkett@billplunkettocr4H agoFirst impressions are lasting and Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s disastrous one-inning debut in South Korea left a mark. In 5 starts since then, though, #Dodgers right-hander has a 2.00 ERA with 20 hits and 35 Ks over 27 IP -- including 6 scoreless IP today https://t.co/bLfSgEbtKZ
