  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Double-double against Lakers

DeRozan posted 17 points (7-13 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, 10 assists and one block across 36 minutes during Sunday's 118-108 victory over the Lakers. After missing Friday's game due to a minor quad strain, DeRozan was back in action and recorded his third double-double in his last five games. The veteran forward has been a rock for the Bulls during their playoff push, and over 10 healthy games in March he's averaging 26.7 points, 6.1 boards, 5.8 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.4 threes.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Good to go Sunday

DeRozan (quadriceps) said "everything's a go" in regard to his availability for Sunday's game against the Lakers, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports. DeRozan missed Friday's game with a strained right quad but will be a full-go for the opening leg of a back-to-back set Sunday in Los Angeles. His return will likely bump Patrick Williams back to the second unit and spell fewer opportunities for Javonte Green (knee) and Derrick Jones.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Ruled out

DeRozan (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Trail Blazers, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports. DeRozan left Wednesday's blowout loss to Philadelphia with a right quadriceps strain and will miss at least one additional contest. Per Johnson, the superstar forward was spotted at the Bulls' morning shootaround without a limp, so there's at least some optimism the issue won't cause DeRozan to miss a significant amount of time. His next chance to suit up will come Sunday during the first half of a back-to-back set in Los Angeles. In DeRozan's absence, Patrick Williams, Javonte Green (knee) and Derrick Jones are all candidates for increased roles, though Chicago will presumably rely heavily on Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Questionable Friday

DeRozan (quadriceps) is questionable for Friday's game against the Trail Blazers. DeRozan exited Wednesday's game against Philadelphia due to a right quadriceps strain, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be available for Friday's road matchup. He missed five games between January and February due to a similar issue, but the Bulls are also competing for a spot in the play-in tournament down the stretch. If he's sidelined Friday, Javonte Green (knee) and Derrick Jones could see increased run for Chicago.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Won't return Wednesday

DeRozan suffered a right quad strain and will not return to Wednesday's game, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports. This is the same injury that cost DeRozan five games from January-February, so for now, he should be considered questionable at best for Friday's game in Portland. The good news is that DeRozan was able to walk off the court under his own power, and the lopsided score may have played a role in his early exit, as the Bulls were down by 20-plus points, and DeRozan was having a terrible game. If he needs to miss time, Ayo Dosunmu could return to the first unit, and it would be Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic doing the heavy lifting on offense.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Strong showing in OT win

DeRozan had 25 points (10-22 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds, three steals, two assists and one block across 46 minutes during Monday's 109-105 double-overtime win over the 76ers. The 33-year-old forward has scored more than 20 points in five straight games and eight of nine in March, averaging 27.8 points, 6.1 boards, 5.3 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.3 threes on the month while shooting 52.7 percent from the floor and a surprising 44.4 percent (12-for-27) from long distance. With the Bulls fighting to secure a spot in the play-in tournament, DeRozan is playing some of his best ball of the season.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Efficient performance in win

DeRozan ended with 24 points (10-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, 10 assists and three steals across 41 minutes during Saturday's 113-99 victory over the Heat. DeRozan tied his season high with 10 dimes and didn't commit a single turnover. He also notched at least three steals for the third time over his past five appearances and was extremely efficient from the field en route to his eighth 20-plus-point game over his past 10 contests. During that stretch, the veteran forward is averaging 26.7 points, 5.4 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 39.1 minutes per game.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Erupts for season-high 49 points

DeRozan finished Friday's 139-131 double-overtime win over the Timberwolves with 49 points (15-25 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 17-18 FT), 14 rebounds, four assists and three steals across 52 minutes. DeRozan's 49 points mark a new season high, and it's the third-highest scoring game of his career. Chicago was clutch to close this game out, outscoring Minnesota 33-23 in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime. The Bulls have won three of their past four games, but they will have a tough challenge Saturday against Miami for the second leg of the back-to-back.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Goes for game-high 33 points

DeRozan closed Wednesday's 117-114 loss to Sacramento with 33 points (10-20 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 9-11 FT), three rebounds, three assists and two steals over 40 minutes. DeRozan tried to will the Bulls to victory Wednesday, posting his highest-scoring total since Jan. 7, but it wasn't enough as Sacramento squeaked out a win in crunch time. The veteran forward hasn't been all that assertive offensively recently. However, he's still been an efficient scorer when he needs to be, posting 23.4 points on 52/42/77 percent shooting splits over his past nine appearances.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Free-throw shooting waning of late

DeRozan finished Saturday's 119-111 win over the Rockets with 27 points (9-21 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 7-10 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal in 39 minutes. DeRozan turned in a well-rounded fantasy performance that included rare contributions in the blocks and three-pointers categories, but he hasn't quite been the pillar in the free-throw percentage category that fantasy managers were likely hoping for. After the 7-for-10 showing Saturday, DeRozan is now converting at a substandard 73.2 percent rate on 6.8 attempts per game over his last six contests. He's still maintaining a respectable 86.8 percent rate from the line on the season, however, so fantasy managers can likely view his recent struggles as a minor blip on the radar.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Pops for 23 in Sunday's loss

DeRozan closed with 23 points (9-16 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds and three assists across 38 minutes during Sunday's 125-122 loss to Indiana. The veteran scoring machine was having trouble staying healthy prior to the All-Star break, but DeRozan hasn't missed a game since the season resumed, although he's taken something of a back seat to Zach LaVine in the Bulls' offense. Over the last six games, DeRozan's averaging 22.3 points, 4.7 assists, 3.0 boards and 1.0 steals while shooting 57.0 percent from the floor.

DeRozan finished second on the team in scoring and assists while finishing three rebounds and three assists shy of a triple-double. DeRozan has scored at least 20 points with five or more rebounds and assists on 14 occasions this year.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Good to go for second half

DeRozan (quadriceps) confirmed after Sunday's All-Star Game that he'll be 100 percent when the Bulls open their second-half schedule Friday versus the Nets, Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune reports. A right quad strain kept DeRozan sidelined for the Bulls' final two games before the break, but the 33-year-old relayed that he received the green light to play in Sunday's All-Star Game after spending the past five days leading up to the exhibition resting, stretching and receiving treatment. He proceeded to play 16 minutes for Team Giannis in a 184-175 win over Team LeBron, finishing with eight points (4-6 FG), six rebounds and five assists while largely focusing on facilitating rather than attacking the rim. DeRozan is expected to do only light basketball activities over the next couple days before heading back to Chicago, but he confirmed that he hopes to play in each of 26-33 Bulls' final 23 contests while he hopes to halt the team's six-game losing streak and lead the team to a spot in the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament. Chicago kicks off its second-half schedule Friday versus Brooklyn.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Suits up in All-Star Game

DeRozan (quadriceps) finished Sunday's All-Star Game with eight points (4-6 FG), six rebounds and five assists in 16 minutes. DeRozan missed the Bulls' final two games before the break due to a right quad strain, but the fact that he was able to handle a normal workload in an exhibition game is a positive indicator for his status coming out of the break. The veteran should continue to be considered day-to-day until the Bulls issue an updated injury report, but at this juncture he appears on track to be available for Friday's game against the Nets.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Selected by Team Giannis in ASG

DeRozan (quad) was selected by Team Giannis ahead of Sunday night's All-Star Game. A quad injury kept DeRozan out of the final two games before the break, and while we're yet to get any official confirmation that the veteran will play Sunday, all indications are that he'll technically be available. Given the situation, it's quite possible that DeRozan's workload is carefully monitored, so don't be surprised if he doesn't see big minutes in the All-Star Game.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Likely playing in All-Star Game

Derozan (quadriceps) is expected to play in the All-Star Game on Sunday, Cody Westerlund of reports. DeRozan has been ruled out for Thursday's game versus the Bucks due to a right quadriceps strain. With the 33-year-old forward expected to suit up Sunday, he should also be available for Chicago's next game on Feb. 24 against Brooklyn.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Unavailable Thursday

DeRozan (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Bucks. DeRozan was unavailable for Wednesday's loss to the Pacers due to a Grade 1 right quad strain, but head coach Billy Donovan had hoped the 33-year-old would be available for Thursday's matchup, Chicago's final game before the All-Star break. However, DeRozan will remain out for a second consecutive matchup, giving him over a week to rest before the Bulls return to action Feb. 24 versus Brooklyn. The Bulls don't think DeRozan's injury is particularly serious, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him return immediately after the All-Star break.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Out Wednesday, could play Thursday

Bulls head coach Billy Donovan confirmed that DeRozan (thigh) won't play Wednesday at Indiana but could suit up Thursday against the Bucks, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports. After Donovan announced that DeRozan underwent an MRI following Monday's loss to the Magic that revealed a Grade 1 thigh strain, the coach ruled out the forward for the front end of the back-to-back set. The Bulls aren't yet ready to shut DeRozan down through the All-Star break, however, as the team will wait and see how the 33-year-old responds to two days of rest before reassessing his status ahead of Thursday's contest. With DeRozan out for at least one game and Derrick Jones (adductor) also doubtful for Wednesday's contest, the Bulls could turn to more guard-heavy lineups against the Pacers featuring Zach LaVine as the team's small forward.

  • Bulls' DeMar DeRozan: Unlikely to play Wednesday

An MRI on Tuesday revealed DeRozan is dealing with a Grade 1 thigh strain, and head coach Billy Donovan said it doesn't look like the forward will travel with the team to Indiana for Wednesday's game against the Pacers, Mike McGraw of the Chicago Daily Herald reports. DeRozan left Monday's loss to Orlando in the third quarter after aggravating a hip injury that he's been playing through for the last month. However, he received positive test results Tuesday morning that showed a minor strain in his thigh. While the issue isn't expected to be serious, DeRozan will likely still miss at least one game. Donovan didn't rule the forward out for Thursday's matchup against Milwaukee, but it would make sense for Chicago to keep the veteran sidelined to give him extra rest heading into the All-Star break.
