Elliot Williams: Waived by Warriors
Wiliams (knee) was released by the Warriors on Thursday, Anthony Slater of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Williams was one of the few training-camp invitees viewed as a serious contender to win a 15-man roster spot, but his bid was undone by a knee scope that kept him off the court for the entire preseason. Once healthy, Williams will likely have to restore his stock in the D-League, where he was one of the top players on the circuit a season ago.

Warriors' Elliot Williams: Still a few weeks away from return
Williams had a knee scope earlier in this summer and will still require a couple more weeks to recover, Anthony Slater of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
It was likely a clean-up procedure for Williams, who previously underwent knee surgery earlier in his career and has seen his development hindered by myriad health issues. The former first-round pick was able to earn a partially guaranteed deal from the Warriors this offseason following a strong season in the D-League, but the fact that he'll be sidelined for most of camp and the preseason schedule may quash his chances of making the opening night roster.

Elliot Williams: Signs one-year deal with Warriors
Williams signed a partially guarenteed one-year deal with the Warriors on Monday, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.
Williams has played just 18 games over the past three season for three different squads including five games for the Grizzlies last season. The 27-year-old guard will provide depth for the Warriors, but it is very unlikely he cracks the rotation at any point.

Elliot Williams: Signs with Greek squad
Williams signed a contract with Panathinaikos of Greece on Tuesday, Sportando reports.
Williams previously appeared in five games for the Grizzlies this season, producing averages of 1.6 points and 0.8 assists in 9.2 minutes before he was released from his 10-day contract in January. He had since returned back to the D-League, where he was one of the circuit's leading scorers, but he'll now pursue a more lucrative payday in Europe. Look for Williams to return to the United States after the season with the hope of earning an invite to an NBA training camp in 2016-17.

Elliot Williams: Reaches end of 10-day deal
Williams has reached the end of his 10-day deal with the Grizzlies, and the team will not re-sign him, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.
Williams appeared in five games, tallying just eight total points in roughly 45 minutes of action. The former Duke standout will likely return to the D-League, where he's averaging 28.1 points and 5.8 assists in 16 games this season, in hopes of piquing another team's interest.

Grizzlies' Elliot Williams: To be signed by Grizzlies
Williams is expected to sign a 10-day contract with the Grizzlies on Thursday, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Williams has been playing with the D-League's Santa Cruz Warriors this season, and has lit up the circuit, averaging 28.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.2 steals in 41 minutes per contest. His addition will give the Grizzlies some depth at point guard after the team recently released Russ Smith.

Williams was waived by the Hornets on Friday.
Williams dealt with a hip injury throughout training camp and the preseason, and he'll now look to latch on with another team. He appeared in only 13 NBA games last season, signing separate 10-day deals with both the Jazz and Pelicans. The journeyman will likely find himself in a similar scenario this season.
