Muscala will appear off the bench in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round matchup versus the Hawks on Saturday, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports. Muscala drew a start in the regular-season finale and finished with a season-high 27 points in the contest. However, he'll return to his usual depth role and doesn't carry nearly as much fantasy upside in his reserve role.... See More ... See Less

Celtics' Mike Muscala: Nears double-double in start
Muscala ended Sunday's 120-114 victory over the Hawks with 27 points (9-13 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 5-7 FT), eight rebounds and two assists in 33 minutes. Muscala got the start in Sunday's victory, finishing second on the team in scoring while finishing two rebounds shy of a double-double and three points short of reaching the 30-point mark. Muscala posted a season high in scoring, now having hauled in at least five rebounds in three straight games. However, he should see fewer opportunities during the playoffs as long as Al Horford (back) and Robert Williams (knee) are able to suit up.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Mike Muscala: Will start Sunday
Muscala will start Sunday's matchup against the Hawks, Jared Weiss of The Athletic reports. The Celtics locked up the No. 2 seed and are resting a majority of their regulars, so Muscala gets the start at power forward and will joined by Derrick White, Payton Pritchard, Sam Hauser and Blake Griffin. Across his previous eight starts this season, Muscala has averaged 11.1 points and 5.5 rebounds in 26.3 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Mike Muscala: Moves back to bench
Muscla isn't in the starting five for Friday's game versus Toronto. Muscala will be replaced by Al Horford in the starting lineup Friday. Muscala is averaging just 3.0 points and 2.2 rebounds in 10.4 minutes across his 15 games coming off the bench for Boston this season.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Mike Muscala: Gets starting nod
Muscala is in the starting five for Wednesday's game versus the Raptors. Muscala will start alongside Robert Williams in the frontcourt Wednesday, as Boston is sitting some of its usual starters. Muscala is averaging 11.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 39.5 minutes across his previous two starts for the Celtics this season.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Mike Muscala: Struggles in loss
Muscala delivered zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one assist over nine minutes during Tuesday's 130-111 loss at Washington. Over Boston's last 10 games, Muscala has four DNP-Coach's Decisions and scored zero points in four appearances. Tuesday's appearance was mostly in garbage time, with the Wizards' victory well in hand. The trade deadline acquisition has struggled to find a consistent role for the Celtics after some early success in mid-February. Expect Muscala's minutes to be minimal through the end of the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Mike Muscala: Returns to bench
Muscala isn't in the starting five for Wednesday's game versus Portland. Muscala will be replaced by a returning Jayson Tatum in the starting lineup Thursday. Muscala is averaging 1.5 points and 2.0 rebounds in 9.5 minutes across his previous four games coming off the bench for Boston.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Mike Muscala: Draws start Monday
Muscala will start Monday's matchup against the Cavaliers, Sean Grande of NBC Sports Boston reports. With Robert Williams (hamstring) and Al Horford (back) sidelined, Muscala and Blake Griffin will draw starts in Boston's frontcourt. In his only other start as a Celtic, Muscala posted 18 points and eight boards across 44 minutes in an overtime loss to Milwaukee.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Mike Muscala: Upgraded to available
Muscala (knee) is available for Wednesday's game versus the Cavaliers. Muscala has been upgraded from questionable to available and will suit up for a second straight matchup following a three-game absence due to right knee tendinopathy. He'll presumably serve a modest reserve role behind Robert Williams, Al Horford and Grant Williams.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Mike Muscala: Questionable to suit up Wednesday
Muscala is considered questionable to take the floor Wednesday versus the Cavaliers due to right knee tendinopathy, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Muscala logged 11 minutes in Tuesday's game versus the Knicks but appears to potentially have picked up a knee issue along the way. The team should update his status ahead of Wednesday's tilt, with Al Horford and Luke Kornet among the candidates to see additional minutes at center if he can't go.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Mike Muscala: Will be available Thursday
Muscala (ankle) will be available for Thursday's matchup against the Pacers, Jay King of The Athletic reports. Muscala sat out the Celtics' final contest before the All-Star break, which was the second half of a back-to-back set, to manage a right ankle injury. The backup big man has had plenty of time off during the All-Star break and will return to action Thursday. However, with Boston nearly at full strength, it's unclear how the newcomer will fit into head coach Joe Mazzulla's rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Mike Muscala: Resting Wednesday
Muscala is out Wednesday against the Pistons due to right ankle injury management. Muscala got the spot start during Tuesday's 131-125 overtime loss to the Bucks with the Celtics down to a skeleton crew. He saw a season-high 44 minutes, posting 18 points, eight boards and one steal. Unsurprisingly, the medical staff has suggested letting him sit out the second night of the back-to-back set before the All-Star break.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Mike Muscala: Solid numbers in spot start
Muscala notched 18 points (7-16 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds and one steal over 44 minutes during Tuesday's 131-125 overtime loss to the Bucks. Making only his sixth start of the season and first since joining the Celtics, Muscala handled a huge workload for the injury-wracked team and delivered passable production. The veteran center has averaged 13.3 points, 4.7 boards and 3.0 threes through his first three games with Boston, and Al Horford's knee trouble should ensure Muscala is a regular part of the frontcourt rotation for the foreseeable future.... Celtics' Mike Muscala: Gets starting nod
Muscala is in the starting five for Tuesday's game versus Milwaukee, Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe reports. Muscala will enter the starting lineup with Al Horford (knee) out. The veteran Muscala is averaging 11.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 16.5 minutes across his two games with Boston this season.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Mike Muscala: Drops four triples in debut
Muscala logged 12 points (4-8 FG, 4-8 3Pt), one rebound, two assists and one block in 16 minutes during Friday's 127-116 win over Charlotte. Muscala instantly became a crowd favorite in what was his Celtics debut, connecting on four triples in 16 minutes. While this was a really solid outing for Muscala, it should be remembered that Al Horford was out due to a minor knee injury. With that said, there is a chance Muscala could be a regular part of the rotation given his competition for minutes consists of Blake Griffin and Luke Kornet.... See More ... See Less -
Celtics' Mike Muscala: Will be available Friday
Muscala (recently traded) will be available for Friday's matchup against the Hornets, Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe reports. Muscala was traded from Oklahoma City to Boston on Thursday, and he appears to have passed his physical and will be available to make his Celtics debut. It's unclear if he'll see any playing time against Charlotte, but Al Horford's (knee) absence could open up some frontcourt minutes. In the long run, Muscala will presumably compete with Luke Kornet and Blake Griffin for the primary backup center gig, but he's unlikely to garner a large enough role to crack fantasy relevancy.... Celtics' Mike Muscala: Dealt to Boston
Muscala was traded from the Thunder to the Celtics on Thursday in exchange for Justin Jackson and a pair of second-round picks, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Muscala spent the last four seasons in Oklahoma City and has averaged 6.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 14.5 minutes per game over 43 appearances to begin the 2022-23 campaign. The 31-year-old mainly came off the bench with the Thunder and should continue to play a depth role in Boston's talented frontcourt. He often struggled to find consistent minutes in Oklahoma City, a trend that will presumably continue with the Celtics.... See More ... See Less -
Thunder's Mike Muscala: Heads to bench
Muscala is coming off the bench Monday night against the Warriors, Rylan Stiles of BricktownBuckets.com reports. Muscala turned in a strong showing Saturday against the Rockets by scoring 19 points and adding six boards in 18 minutes. However, the Thunder will roll out a different starting five Monday night, as Aaron Wiggins, Jalen Williams and Jaylin Williams are set to man the frontcourt.... See More ... See Less -
Thunder's Mike Muscala: Rare outburst of scoring
Muscala ended Saturday's 153-121 victory over Houston with 19 points (7-10 FG, 5-8 3Pt) and six rebounds in 18 minutes. Muscala finished the night in double figures for the first time since Jan. 6, and he also saw a sizeable uptick in playing time in just his fourth start of the new calendar year. Muscala has scored eight or more points in each of his last four starts, and he's also attempted 10 field goals in three of the four. The Bucknell product could remain in the starting five for Monday's matchup with the Warriors given his recent success Saturday, but the team has not been afraid to shake up the starting five.... Thunder's Mike Muscala: Moves to starting unit
Muscala is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockets, Brandon Rahbar of DailyThunder.com reports. The Thunder are shaking up their frontcourt once again, and Muscala will get the nod alongside Jalen Williams. Muscala has averaged 8.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in four starts this season....
