  • Trail Blazers' Toumani Camara: Grabs season-high 13 rebounds

Camara contributed six points (3-14 FG, 0-4 3Pt), 13 rebounds and two assists over 27 minutes before fouling out of Wednesday's 110-106 loss to the Warriors. Although Camara continues to struggle as a scorer, he picked up some of Deandre Ayton's (knee) missing output with the best rebound total of his pro career. The Dayton product is seeing first unit minutes right away in his rookie season, but he'll needs to improve his production to gain fantasy relevancy.

  • Trail Blazers' Toumani Camara: Limited again despite start

Camara registered five points (1-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and two rebounds over 17 minutes during Monday's 114-110 victory over the Pacers. Camara started for the eighth consecutive game, yet struggled to make any sort of real impact. Despite starting, his playing time was under 20 minutes for the third time in the past five games. Since being elevated to the opening unit, Camara has been well outside the top 200 in standard leagues, making him a non-factor outside of very deep formats.

  • Trail Blazers' Toumani Camara: Scoreless in loss

Camara didn't score any points (0-4 FG, 0-3 3Pt), but he did log three assists, two steals and a rebound in Wednesday's 109-95 loss to Cleveland. This game marked Camara's second start, relegating Matisse Thybulle to the bench. After a relatively efficient showing against Utah on Tuesday, he did not do much to help the shorthanded Trail Blazers as they extended their losing streak to five. On the plus side, Camara has exceeded 22 minutes in every game this season except the opener. However, the lack of production to show for it (5.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.7 blocks per game) is quite concerning. As Anfernee Simons (thumb), Scoot Henderson (ankle) and Malcolm Brogdon (hamstring) remain out, expect the rookie to see extended minutes until they return.

  • Trail Blazers' Toumani Camara: Will play Sunday

Camara (wrist) will play in Sunday's matchup against the Grizzlies,Sean Highkin of RoseGardenReport.com reports. Camara's status was in question due to a wrist sprain, but after taking part in warmups he has been cleared to play. The rookie has seen a respectable role to begin his career, averaging 6.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 24.5 minutes per game across six contests. Camara saw 31 minutes last game with Scoot Henderson sidelined with an ankle injury, so he could be in store for another significant workload with Henderson out again.

  • Trail Blazers' Toumani Camara: Coming off bench Wednesday

Camara won't start Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Law Murray of The Athletic reports. Camara drew the start in Portland's preseason finale with several would-be starters sidelined but played only 12 minutes. As expected, he'll rejoin the reserves for Wednesday's opener, and it's unclear how large of a role he'll command.

  • Trail Blazers' Toumani Camara: Looks good in NBA preseason debut

Camara racked up 13 points (5-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal over 14 minutes Tuesday in a 106-66 preseason victory versus New Zealand. Camara was perhaps the most impressive player for Portland in the team's preseason opener, as he finished second on the club in scoring with an efficient 5-for-6 mark from the field, including a pair of triples. The Dayton product rounded out his stat line with four boards and three dimes while looking very comfortable on the court. Camara likely benefited from an opportunity standpoint when he was traded to a rebuilding Blazers squad after Phoenix took him with the 52nd pick in June's NBA draft, and he could build a case for a more-than-minor bench role with a strong preseason following an impressive showing during the Summer League.

  • Suns' Toumani Camara: Shimmers in Summer League finale

Camara logged 20 points (4-11 FG, 1-4 3PT, 11-12 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist and two blocks over 23 minutes of Saturday's 102-79 Summer League win against the Grizzlies. Camara finished Summer League on a high note, posting a double-double in 23 minutes of Saturday's tilt. He corralled game highs in both points and rebounds and was a force on the interior, pulling down five offensive boards and getting to the line 12 times. Though Camara was selected 52nd overall in the 2023 NBA draft, he's made a case to push for early minutes for a revamped Suns roster.
