Zboril was reassigned to AHL Providence on Saturday, per CapFriendly. Milan Lucic (ankle) was placed on long-term injured reserve, and Zboril's contract made him an option to optimize the Bruins' cap relief from that move. The 26-year-old defenseman has 76 games of NHL experience, which could make him a candidate to be called up later in the year for depth on the blue line.... See More ... See Less

Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Promoted from minors
Zboril was recalled from AHL Providence on Friday, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports. Zboril's addition to the NHL roster may only be temporary considering the corresponding moves leave the team without a full complement of healthy forwards. Still, if the Bruins decide to keep an extra blueliner on the roster ahead of Saturday's matchup with Detroit, Zboril should have the inside track ahead of Mason Lohrei, who was also recalled Friday, to enter the lineup.... Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Likely headed back to AHL
The Bruins placed Zboril on waivers Saturday. The Bruins drafted Zboril 13th overall in 2015, but the defenseman has managed to play only 76 NHL games in his career. Zboril finally scored his first NHL goal last season versus the Sabres on Nov. 12. Look for Zboril to be sent to AHL Providence if he is not claimed.... See More ... See Less -
Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Grabs assist Sunday
Zboril registered an assist in Sunday's 7-0 win versus the Sabres on Sunday. Zboril was back in the lineup for the first time since Feb. 23 against the Kraken. It was just the fourth appearance for the blueliner since mid-November. With the Bruins rotating their blueliners ahead of a postseason run, Zboril could crack the lineup periodically but figures to remain primarily a healthy scratch more often than not.... See More ... Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Back at practice
Zboril (illness) rejoined his teammates for Monday's practice session, Matt Porter of The Boston Globe reports. Even with Zboril back on the ice after missing Saturday's matchup with Chicago, the blueliner is expected to serve as a healthy scratch versus the Lightning on Monday with Anton Stralman holding onto his spot in the lineup. Zboril figures to continue splitting opportunities with Stralman and will likely have to spend some time watching from the press box.... See More ... See Less -
Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Out again Saturday
Zboril (illness) is not expected to play Saturday against Chicago, Ty Anderson of 98.5 The Sports Hub reports. Boston is projected to use the same lineup that defeated Philadelphia by a score of 4-1 on Thursday. Zboril didn't play Thursday because of an illness and may not be back to full health yet.... Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Misses action Thursday
Zboril missed Thursday's game with an illness, Kevin Paul Dupont of The Boston Globe reports. Zboril still wasn't healthy enough to practice Friday and has to be considered questionable for Saturday's game against Chicago. The defenseman has one goal in 12 games this season.... See More ... Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Ready for camp
Zboril (knee) is on the Bruins' training camp roster, Conor Ryan of MassLive.com reports. Zboril missed most of 2021-22 after tearing his right ACL in December. He was given a 6-9 month recovery timeline, so he's at the far end of that now and appears ready to compete for a bottom-six job. The Bruins will be missing Charlie McAvoy (shoulder) and Matt Grzelcyk (shoulder) to begin the year, giving Zboril a strong chance of making the Opening Night roster.... See More ... See Less -
Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Done for season
Zboril underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL on Dec. 16 and will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 campaign, the team announced Tuesday. Even with a potential 6-9 month recovery timeline, Zboril should be ready in time for the start of training camp ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. Prior to getting hurt, the 24-year-old blueliner notched three assists, 13 shots and 24 hits in 10 contests while averaging 15:44 of ice time. Zboril will have to wait another year before getting a chance to score his first NHL goal, something he has yet to do in 54 career NHL contests.... See More ... See Less -
Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Out at least two more weeks
Zboril (lower body) will be reevaluated in two weeks. At this point it looks like Zboril will have to wait for the calendar to flip to 2022 before returning to action. Zboril's absence will test Boston's depth on the back end, but it won't impact many fantasy lineups, as he's only picked up three helpers through 10 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Heads to injured reserve
Zboril (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, per CapFriendly. Zboril suffered the injury Thursday, so he won't be eligible to play again until Dec. 9 at the earliest. It's believed to be a significantly longer-term injury than that, though head coach Bruce Cassidy hasn't provided any specifics yet.... See More ... See Less -
Bruins' Jakub Zboril: No update available
Zboril (lower body) will be reevaluated "in the days to come," Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic reports. It sounds like Zboril may be facing an extended absence due to the lower-body injury he suffered during Thursday's win over the Predators. An update on the 24-year-old blueliner should be released within the next few days.... See More ... See Less -
Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Done for night
Zboril (lower body) won't return to Thursday's game versus the Predators. Zboril couldn't put weight on his leg after a collision in the second period of Thursday's contest. The 24-year-old's timeline should be clarified in the near future, though the severity of his injury isn't known yet. Connor Clifton will likely enter the lineup to replace Zboril.... See More ... Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Garners helper in win
Zboril logged an assist in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Canadiens. Zboril earned his first point of the year in his third game, and he's now played in consecutive contests for the first time this season. The 24-year-old took the place of Mike Reilly for both of the Bruins' games this weekend. Zboril has added just four shots on net, seven hits and four blocked shots in a limited role on the third pairing, so fantasy managers need not track his progress too much this year.... See More ... Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Could play if needed
Zboril (upper body) could draw into the lineup for Saturday's Game 3 versus the Islanders if Brandon Carlo (undisclosed) is unable to go, Joe Haggerty of BostonHockeyNow.com reports. Zboril has yet to play this postseason due to an upper-body injury, but he'll be an option if needed for Saturday's matchup with the Isles. The 24-year-old blueliner picked up nine helpers through 42 games during the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Not ready to play Monday
Zboril (upper body) is slated to miss Monday's matchup with the Islanders, per Conor Ryan of MassLive.com. Zboril has played in just two of the Bruins' last 18 contests due to various ailments and will be on the shelf for his seventh straight outing. Without the blueliner, Jeremy Lauzon and Connor Clifton figure to continue featuring on the third pairing.... See More ... See Less -
Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Targets second-round return
GM Don Sweeney relayed Monday the Bruins hope that Zboril (upper body) will be available when the team's next series opens up. The same applies to fellow blueliner Jeremy Lauzon (hand), while Kevan Miller is dealing with an undisclosed injury and a cloudier timetable. The Bruins have some time off before their second-round playoff series opens, but if either of the aforementioned trio is available by then, Jarred Tinordi would presumably revert to reserve status.... Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Remains out of lineup
Zboril (upper body) isn't slated to play Wednesday night against the Capitals, Jimmy Murphy of BostonHockeyNow.com reports. With Jeremy Lauzon (right hand) out and Zboril not in line to play, Connor Clifton is set to remain in Boston's lineup for Game 3 of the team's first-round playoff series. Zboril's fantasy impact during the regular season was modest, as the 2015 first-rounder tallied nine assists and 18 PIM in 42 games.... See More ... See Less -
Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Exits with upper-body injury
Zboril (upper body) will not return to Tuesday's game versus the Capitals. Zboril featured in a top-pairing role with many of the Bruins' top players rested for the regular-season finale. He logged only 5:39 of ice time before he was forced from the contest. Zboril's status ahead of Saturday's Game 1 versus the Capitals could be in question.... See More ... See Less -
Bruins' Jakub Zboril: Returning to action
Zboril (illness) will return to action Tuesday night against the Sabres, Joe Haggerty of BostonHockeyNow.com reports. Following a one-game absence, Zboril is slated to work on the Bruins' third defensive pairing along with Jeremy Lauzon. With newcomer Mike Reilly now in the mix and Matt Grzelcyk back in action, it doesn't seem likely that Zboril, who has notched eight assists in 39 games to date, will see much power-play time in the immediate future....
