Rodrigue signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Oilers on Tuesday. Rodrigue wrapped up his entry-level deal while posting a 14-14-1 record, a 2.77 GAA and a .912 save percentage in 29 games with AHL Bakersfield last season. He'll remain with the Oilers' organization for now, though it's likely he again spends the bulk of 2023-24 in the minors.... See More ... See Less

Oilers' Olivier Rodrigue: Up with Oilers
Rodrigue was summoned from AHL Bakersfield on Sunday. Rodrigue posted a 14-14-1 record at the AHL level this season with a 2.77 GAA and a .912 save percentage in 29 appearances. He is slated to serve as Edmonton's third goaltender in the playoffs behind Stuart Skinner and Jack Campbell.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Olivier Rodrigue: Poised to feature Monday
Rodrigue is set to defend the cage versus the Kraken on Monday, Bob Stauffer of the Oilers Radio Network reports. While Rodrigue will get the starting nod for the first preseason contest, it's unlikely he will make the 23-man roster over the likes of Stuart Skinner, who figures to serve as the backup to Jack Campbell. Without a clear path to regular appearances, Rodrigue shouldn't be expected to offer much in the way of fantasy value this season.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Olivier Rodrigue: Dropped down to minors
Rodrigue was reassigned to AHL Bakersfield on Monday. With Mike Smith (thumb) cleared to play, Rodrigue's services were no longer needed at the NHL level. Barring another injury for Smith or Mikko Koskinen, the 21-year-old Rodrigue should be expected to play the rest of his games in the minors this year.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Olivier Rodrigue: Rises to active roster
Rodrigue was called up from the taxi squad Wednesday. Rodrigue will practice with the Oilers over the All-Star break while Stuart Skinner heads to AHL Bakersfield to get some playing time. Rodrigue is unlikely to appear in an NHL contest this season.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Olivier Rodrigue: Back with taxi squad
Rodrigue was promoted from AHL Bakersfield to the taxi squad Thursday. Rodrigue has bounced between the minors and the taxi squad multiple times this month. The 21-year-old likely won't see any NHL action this season.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Olivier Rodrigue: Heads to minors
The Oilers assigned Rodrigue to AHL Bakersfield on Friday, TSN reports. Rodrigue's demotion suggests Troy Grosenick (COVID-19 protocols) may be close to being cleared to join the Oilers. The 20-year-old backstop will likely spend most, if not all of the 2020-21 campaign in the minors.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Olivier Rodrigue: Recalled to taxi squad
Rodrigue has been recalled from the Austrian League and will join Edmonton's taxi squad, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports. With Mike Smith (undisclosed) being placed on long-term injured reserve, Rodrigue will serve as insurance behind Mikko Koskinen and Stuart Skinner. The 20-year-old was a second-round pick by Edmonton in 2018 and spent last season in the QMJHL. He'll need to quarantine upon arrival in Canada prior to joining the team.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Olivier Rodrigue: Loaned to Austrian club
The Oilers have loaned Rodrigue to the Graz99ers of the Austrian Hockey League. Rodrigue spent the 2019-20 season with the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL, compiling a 31-7-1 record while posting a 2.32 GAA and .918 save percentage. He'll likely be recalled ahead of Edmonton's training camp, but he's still at least a few years away from making an impact at the NHL level.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Olivier Rodrigue: Released from camp
Rodrigue has been released from Edmonton's training camp roster, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports. The Oilers wanted Rodrigue to attend training camp because the team's development camp and fall rookie tournament were both cancelled due to COVID-19, but he was never expected to still be with the club for its qualifying round matchup with the Blackhawks. The 2018 second-round pick posted a 31-7-1 record while registering a 2.32 GAA and .918 save percentage in 39 appearances with his QMJHL team this year.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Olivier Rodrigue: Joining training camp
Rodrigue will take part in the Oilers' return to play training camp, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports. Rodrigue won't be getting into any playoff games, barring a real bad run of injuries, but the opportunity to practice with NHL players will no doubt help his long-term development. The 19-year-old went 31-7-1 with a .918 save percentage and 2.32 GAA in 39 appearances for QMJHL Moncton this year.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Olivier Rodrigue: Busy in loss to Flames prospects
Rodrigue stopped 40 of 42 shots in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Flames' prospects. The Oilers' rookies didn't help their 19-year-old goalie much, as only Evan Bouchard was able to get the puck behind Flames goalie Dustin Wolf. Rodrigue's strong play kept the Oilers in striking distance for a majority of the contest. Expect Rodrigue to spend another year with QMJHL Drummondville, where he posted a 2.80 GAA and an .895 save percentage over 142 games in the last three seasons. Rodrigue is likely three-plus years away from having an impact at the NHL level.... See More ... See Less -
Oilers' Olivier Rodrigue: Secures entry-level deal
Rodrigue agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract with Edmonton on Wednesday. Rodrigue -- who was selected by the club with the 62nd overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft -- went 35-9-1 with a .902 save percentage in 48 appearances with QMJHL Drummondville this season. The 18-year-old netminder figures to spend at least another year in juniors before getting a shot with AHL Bakersfield, though the organization's lack of goalie depth could force it to fast-track the youngster's development....
