    Despite a rough season debut, Yamamoto has thus far lived up to the billing that netted him a 12-year, $325 million contract in the offseason, as he's tossed a scoreless outing of at least five frames in half of his six starts so far. The Japanese hurler's outing Thursday was his second straight quality start and lowered his season ERA to 3.54. Yamamoto also holds a 1.07 WHIP and 37:6 K:BB through 28 innings.

    Yamamoto got into trouble right off the bat, surrendering two hits and a walk to the first three batters he faced. However, the right-hander then proceeded to strike out the side to work his way out of the hole before allowing just one more hit in the contest. Yamamoto has now hurled 10 scoreless innings over his last two starts after getting knocked around in his first outing. He's given up just five hits over that stretch to go along with a 13:2 K:BB.

    Yamamoto faltered in his MLB regular-season debut against the Padres in South Korea on March 21, allowing five earned runs and lasting just one inning. His second outing went in the complete opposite direction, as the Japanese hurler struck out the side in a perfect first frame and gave up just two baserunners over five standout innings. Yamamoto may have gone deeper if not for a rare Dodger Stadium rain delay, though he did return to the contest following the 35-minute interruption. Fantasy managers who invested in Yamamoto in fantasy drafts should feel much better after this performance, and given how good he looked Saturday, it's quite possible that the right-hander's worst start of the year is already behind him.
