Schroder will replace D'Angelo Russell in the starting five Monday. Schroder is averaging 4.5 points, 5.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 28.5 minutes across his previous two appearances starting this postseason.

While he has had a few nice moments throughout the playoffs, his inability to provide consistent production remains an issue. No NBA team has ever come back to win a series after trailing 3-0, something the Lakers will have to do should they hope to reach the Finals.

A lineup change was expected for Thursday night, and this one isn't a huge surprise. With Jarred Vanderbilt entering the starting five, the Lakers have another defensive presence to slow down Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.
Schroder was ejected from Game 6 against the Warriors on Friday.
Schroder already had a technical foul when he took part in a mild altercation with Draymond Green during which the Golden State forward pushed a ball into his face. Schroder finished the night with three points, five assists and two rebounds in 25 minutes.

Schroder scored 13 first-half points and finished tied with D'Angelo Russell for third on the team in scoring behind Anthony Davis (30) and LeBron James (22). The backup point guard's 19 points were his most in the playoffs so far, and it appears he has a more favorable matchup in Round 2 than he did against Memphis. Either way, Schroder remains a streaky scorer, so it may be a stretch to expect this type of production from him moving forward.
