Looney came off the bench in the contest but still made a big impact with a team-leading 18 rebounds over 26 minutes. Eight of his boards came on the offensive end, and he finished the Warriors' 13-game playoff run with 4.7 offensive rebounds per contest, second-most in the league. Looney's limitations on offense -- he averaged just 6.5 points in the postseason -- resulted in him taking on a reserve role over the final five contests against the Lakers and emphasizes his one-dimensional skill set, which makes him only a marginal asset in fantasy.

Looney appears to be on the wrong end of the Warriors' Game 2 adjustments, as the team will opt to instead start JaMychal Green at the center spot. The move is surprising considering Looney's dominance on the glass in Game 1, when he pulled down a career-high 23 rebounds, seven of which were offensive.

Looney (illness) is expected to play but will come off the bench for Thursday's Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals versus the Lakers, Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
After grabbing a career-high 23 rebounds in Game 1, Looney will be shifted to the second unit and is feeling under the weather. Although he is expected to play, it's unclear how many minutes he will see, and his effectiveness could be hampered by the illness. Fantasy managers should look elsewhere given the uncertain nature of Looney's workload and status.
Looney provided 10 points (5-11 FG), 23 rebounds and five assists over 29 minutes during Tuesday's 117-112 loss to the Lakers in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Looney was a menace on the glass again and now has four games with 20-plus rebounds across the team's first eight postseason matchups. His 23 boards Tuesday were a career high and tied Anthony Davis for the most in Game 1. While his rebounding prowess gets all the attention, Looney has quietly been an outstanding passer this postseason and is averaging 4.4 assists, which is nearly double his regular-season average.

Looney came into Game 7 averaging 14.2 rebounds in the quarterfinals with totals of 20 and 22 rebounds to his credit. His incredible run continued in the final game against the Kings. It's a very impressive result considering the opposition, as Domantas Sabonis was an imposing defender and a double-double machine throughout the series. Looney won the rebounding race by a wide margin, with Sabonis recording only eight rebounds in the loss.
