Wagner finished Tuesday's 122-112 win over Washington with 15 points (5-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT) and three rebounds across 14 minutes off the bench. The fifth-year center didn't get onto the court at all in the last two games, but he took full advantage of his opportunities Tuesday with some impressive per-minute production. Wagner showed he can provide useful numbers while Wendell Carter was on the shelf, but in his current role, he's a risky fantasy option.... See More ... See Less

Magic's Moritz Wagner: Back to bench
Wagner will return to the bench Saturday against Miami, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. This was an expected move from Orlando with Wendell Carter (hip) returning from a three-game absence. Wagner was a quality streaming option in Carter's absence, scoring in double-digits in all three games with a healthy supply of rebounds and steals.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Moritz Wagner: Another strong outing sans Carter
Wagner totaled 18 points (6-7 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in 21 minutes during Tuesday's 134-123 loss to the Bucks. With Wendell Carter (hip) sidelined again, Wagner drew a second straight start and posted a well-rounded outing versus Milwaukee. The Michigan product has scored in double figures in three consecutive appearances and is averaging 15.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.3 assists in 23.3 minutes during that stretch.... Magic's Moritz Wagner: Starting Sunday
Wagner will enter the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Portland, with Wendell Carter Jr. (hip) unavailable. Wagner has played well in a starting role this season, owning averages of 13.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.1 triples, 1.0 steal and just 1.6 turnovers per contest on 51.5 percent shooting from the field and 91.3 percent at the stripe, so he makes for an attractive streaming option.... Magic's Moritz Wagner: Gets extra minutes Monday
Wagner provided 14 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-6 FT), three rebounds and two assists across 23 minutes off the bench in Monday's 101-93 win over the Pelicans. Wagner cleared the 20-minute mark for the second game in a row, though starting center Wendell Carter's early foul trouble in both contests played a significant factor in Wagner received extra playing time. Prior to the last two games, Carter hadn't played fewer than 29 minutes in any of his eight appearances in February, so fantasy managers shouldn't count on Wagner sustaining his recent uptick in minutes. Wagner continues to look like a more reliable option in 14- or 16-team category leagues rather than shallower formats.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Moritz Wagner: Quietly productive again Monday
Wagner closed Monday's 100-91 victory over the Bulls with seven points (2-5 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three steals, two rebounds, two assists and one block in 18 minutes. Wagner chipped in across all major categories Monday, continuing what has been a sneaky run of games. A top-100 player on a per-game basis in nine-category leagues over the past week, Wagner has been able to make the most of his limited minutes, playing as the primary backup behind Wendell Carter. He has clearly outplayed Bol Bol of late, and with Mo Bamba no longer on the roster, there's a consistent role to be had for Wagner on the second unit.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Moritz Wagner: Big night off bench
Wagner chipped in 22 points (6-11 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 10-10 FT), six rebounds and one block over 22 minutes off the bench during Monday's 119-109 win over the 76ers. The 25-year-old was the only member of the Magic's second unit to score more than five points on the night, but Wagner's contributions were enough to put Orlando over the top. He's scored more than 20 points in back-to-back contests after going 16 straight games without reaching that mark once, but without more court time, it's hard to bank on him maintaining that scoring pace for any length of time.... Magic's Moritz Wagner: Huge game off bench
Wagner ended Saturday's 128-109 loss to the Bulls with 27 points (8-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 8-9 FT), two rebounds, three assists and one steal in 23 minutes. With the starting unit struggling mightily Saturday night, Wagner stepped up and helped his team cut into a vast double-digit deficit in the second half. At one point, the 25-year-old big man scored 16 straight for the Magic. This may have been an atypical minutes distribution for Orlando, but it's worth noting that Wagner has scored in double figures the last eight times he's seen 20-plus minutes of action.... Magic's Moritz Wagner: Logs 11 points off bench
Wagner produced 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist in 17 minutes during Tuesday's 109-106 victory over the Trail Blazers. Wagner came off the bench for a third consecutive game Tuesday and maintained consistent playing time. While he was also consistent on the scoreboard, he had more trouble securing rebounds, as he had a season-low two boards during the narrow win. Over his last three appearances, he's averaged 9.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Moritz Wagner: Moderately productive Monday
Wagner had 12 points (4-7 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one steal across 18 minutes during Monday's 136-111 loss to the Kings. Wagner ended his night with a relatively well-rounded line, much to the delight of anyone still holding him in fantasy. Unfortunately, it appears as though his minutes are going to hover around 16-18 per night, making him more of a deep-league target moving forward. While Monday's production was encouraging, it should be noted that this game was a blowout and not a reflection of what things might look like moving forward.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Moritz Wagner: Suspension begins Wednesday
Wagner will begin serving his two-game suspension Wednesday against the Thunder. Wagner was suspended for his role in an on-court incident against the Pistons on Dec. 28, but he was dealing with an illness Friday that made him physically unable to play in the Magic's 119-100 loss to the Wizards. As a result, he'll miss Orlando's back-to-back set that begins Wednesday, with his second absence to come Thursday versus the Grizzlies. Wagner should be back in action Saturday at Golden State.... Magic's Moritz Wagner: Suspended for two games
Wagner will be suspended for two games for his role in Wednesday's altercation with the Pistons, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Wagner's suspension will cause him to miss Friday's game against the Wizards and Wednesday's game against the Thunder. With Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter also having to miss Friday's game as they serve a one-game suspension for their roles in the altercation, the Magic frontcourt will be left to Bol Bol, Paolo Banchero, Caleb Houstan and Admiral Schofield. Wagner can next play Jan. 5 against the Grizzlies.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Moritz Wagner: Questionable Friday
Wagner is listed as questionable for Friday's matchup with the Wizards due to an illness. Wagner is questionable Friday after getting ejected from Wednesday's game, although his injury designation appears to be unrelated. Wendell Carter and Mo Bamba are candidates to see extended minutes if he doesn't suit up against the Wizards.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Moritz Wagner: Gets tossed from Wednesday's loss
Wagner was ejected from Wednesday's 121-101 loss to Detroit after totaling seven points (2-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds and one assist across 13 minutes. With the game getting out of hand for the Magic in the second quarter, Wagner shoved Killian Hayes into the Detroit bench as the two were chasing after a loose ball, sparking a bench-clearing scuffle that will likely result in multiple suspensions for those involved. The 25-year-old big has remained in the starting lineup so far while Wendell Carter gets back up to speed after his foot injury, but depending on how long a suspension the NBA hands down, Wagner may not find a starting spot waiting for him when he returns.... Magic's Moritz Wagner: Efficient in win
Wagner logged 17 points (6-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds and one assist over 26 minutes during Friday's 133-113 victory over the Spurs. Wagner tallied at least 10 points and five rebounds for the sixth straight game while also shooting a perfect 26-for-26 from the free-throw line in that span. The German big man is averaging 12.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 26.4 minutes during December. Notably, he still saw 26 minutes despite Wendell Carter making his return and playing 19 minutes. It's possible Wagner will remain a rotation staple in the frontcourt.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Moritz Wagner: Double-doubles again Monday
Wagner produced 16 points (5-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals in 29 minutes during Monday's 126-125 loss to the Hawks. Wagner continues to play some of the best basketball of his career, recording his third double-double in the past three weeks. Since entering the starting lineup, it's been all systems go for Wagner, putting up top-40 value over the past two weeks. Wendell Carter could return from his foot injury Friday, so Wagner's playing time could drop in the near future.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Moritz Wagner: Another double-digit performance
Wagner recorded 11 points (2-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two steals across 29 minutes during Sunday's 95-92 victory over Boston. Wagner surpassed the double-digit scoring mark for the seventh time in the last 10 contests, finishing four rebounds shy of a double-double. Wagner has averaged 17.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals over his last three games.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Moritz Wagner: Posts stellar shooting line
Wagner provided 25 points (9-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-6 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal over 23 minutes during Friday's 117-109 victory over the Celtics. Wagner led his team in scoring and did so in an efficient manner. He also secured four of his eight rebounds on the offensive glass, marking his best rebounding mark since Dec. 7. Wagner has been a solid contributor for the Magic over his last six contests, averaging 16.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 28.8 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Moritz Wagner: Season-high triples
Wagner closed Wednesday's 135-124 victory over the Hawks with 17 points (7-9 FG, 3-4 3Pt), five rebounds and one steal in 30 minutes. Wagner posted his most efficient scoring night of the season Wednesday. His three-point shot falling is also a good sign, as the 25-year-old big man is only shooting 26.3 percent from three on 3.5 attempts through 11 games.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Moritz Wagner: Second straight double-double
Wagner supplied 20 points (7-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block across 36 minutes during Wednesday's 116-111 overtime victory over the Clippers. Wagner secured his second straight double-double, hauling in a season-high rebounding mark while leading the team in the category. Wagner has scored in double figures four times this season, surpassing the double-digit rebound total twice.... See More ... See Less
