  • Stephen Zimmerman: Waived by San Antonio

Zimmerman was waived by the Spurs on Thursday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

Zimmerman signed a training camp deal with the team earlier Thursday but was quickly waived. The 2016 second-rounder has spent time in the G League with a handful of teams before heading overseas, most recently to Australia with the NBL.

  • Spurs' Stephen Zimmerman: Signs with Spurs

Zimmerman signed a training camp contract with the Spurs on Thursday, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.

Zimmerman played professionally in Australia last year but was able to land a contract with the Spurs with just under a week remaining until the regular season. It seems likely that Zimmerman will begin the year in the G League.

  • Stephen Zimmerman: Sets season-high mark in rebounds

Zimmerman posted 12 points (5-14 FG, 2-4 FT), 20 rebounds, four assists and a block in the 122-107 loss Monday to the Blue Coats.

Zimmerman set a season-high in the rebounding category, becoming the first Westchester player to post 20 or more rebounds in the 2018-19 season. Isaiah Hicks (groin) continual absence has opened the door for Zimmerman to become a legitimate fantasy dynamo at the center spot.

  • Stephen Zimmerman: Finds spot in starting lineup

Zimmerman slotted into the starting lineup Thursday, finishing the 122-116 loss to the Swarm with nine points (4-6 FG, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Zimmerman's return to the starting rotation bumped the increasingly productive Jameel Warney to power forward, but Warney continued to pile up numbers finishing the game with 29 points and nine rebounds. Zimmerman certainly has some utility as a fantasy option given his defense and rebounding prowess, but he'll have to play more than his Thursday minute total (25) in order to be a consistent factor worth relying on.

  • Stephen Zimmerman: Misses first game of season

Zimmerman did not play in play in Friday's contest with a left knee injury.

Zimmerman hasn't seen a lot of time with Westchester, averaging 19.6 minutes per game. The 6-11 center has been averaging six rebounds during that stretch, but just 7.8 points per game certainly isn't an intimidating figure.

  • Stephen Zimmerman: Sidelined with right knee injury

Zimmerman did not participate in Sunday's 125-101 win over Santa Cruz due to a right knee injury.

As a result of his injury, Zimmerman has been sidelined since putting up four points back on Jan. 19. Currently, it's unclear how much longer the 21-year-old center will be kept out of action as South Bay's next game is Wednesday. The 6-11 UNLV product is averaging 6.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest during his second year in the G-League.

  • Stephen Zimmerman: Waived by Lakers

Zimmerman was waived by the Lakers on Monday.

Zimmerman was only on a training camp deal and was never expected to make the final regular-season roster. He played a total of just three minutes during the preseason, notching two points, one rebound and one assist. He'll look to latch on elsewhere prior to the opener, though more realistically, Zimmerman will have to settle for deal in the G-League or overseas.

  • Lakers' Stephen Zimmerman: Joins Lakers for training camp

Zimmerman signed a partially-guaranteed training camp deal with the Lakers on Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Zimmerman, who played in only 19 games for the Magic during the 2016-17 season, was waived by the team in early July after they were seemingly disappointed by his Orlando Summer League performances. He saw just 108 total minutes last year, recording 23 points, 35 rebounds, five blocks, four assists and two steals while shooting an abysmal 32.3 percent from the field. The 7-footer is seemingly a longshot to make the Lakers' final roster considering the team's impressive center depth of Brook Lopez and Ivica Zubac, but it's possible he'll end up with the Lakers' G-League affiliate when things are said and done.

  • Stephen Zimmerman: Waived by Magic

Zimmerman was waived by the Magic on Tuesday, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Zimmerman played in just 19 games for the Magic during the 2016-17 campaign, averaging 1.2 points and 1.8 rebounds across 5.7 minutes. After taking part in the Orlando Summer League over the last week, the Magic didn't like the progress they saw with the seven-foot big man, so he'll head to the open free agent market with Tuesday's release. He'll likely latch on elsewhere prior to training camp, but he's not a lock to make a final roster.

  • Magic's Stephen Zimmerman: Dropped from rotation Monday

Zimmerman (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in a 113-105 loss to the Knicks on Monday.

It was thought that Zimmerman might pick up some expanded run while Nikola Vucevic (Achilles) has missed the last two contests, but after playing only five minutes Sunday against the Wizards, the rookie dropped out of the rotation entirely for the second half of the back-to-back set. Zimmerman can be ignored in most deeper formats until he starts seeing meaningful playing time.

  • Magic's Stephen Zimmerman: Recalled from D-League

Zimmerman was recalled from the D-League's Erie BayHawks on Monday.

The rookie out of UNLV hasn't made much of an impact at the NBA level this season, but he's fared well in the D-League. Over 21 appearances, Zimmerman has averaged 13.4 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in 21 appearances.

  • Magic's Stephen Zimmerman: Seeing extensive time in D-League

Zimmerman is averaging 13.1 points (on 45.7% shooting), 9.1 rebounds, 1.1 blocks and 1.1 steals in 29.4 minutes per game over 16 appearances with the D-League's Erie BayHawks this season.

Since he hadn't been a rotation player for the Magic the first couple months of the season, Zimmerman has spent all of January in the D-League picking up regular run. He's been one of the top performers on the Erie roster, but it's unlikely to change his standing as the low man on the depth chart at center once he eventually rejoins the Magic.

  • Magic's Stephen Zimmerman: Assigned to Erie

Zimmerman was assigned to the D-League on Saturday.

The rookie has appeared in only eight games for Orlando in what will be a developmental season. In six games for Erie, Zimmerman is averaging 17.3 points, 13.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.

  • Magic's Stephen Zimmerman: Back from D-League

Zimmerman was recalled from the D-League on Saturday, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Zimmerman has been with the Erie BayHawks for nearly two weeks, but he'll return in advance of Saturday's game against the Nuggets to provide extra frontcourt depth with both Bismack Biyombo and Nikola Vucevic questionable to play.

  • Magic's Stephen Zimmerman: Assigned to D-League

Zimmerman was assigned to the D-League's Erie BayHawks on Monday, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports.

Zimmerman hasn't appeared in a game with the Magic since Nov. 9, as the second-round rookie has largely functioned as emergency depth in the frontcourt. A stint in the D-League should allow him to gain some meaningful experience in a game setting, but don't expect him to claim a rotation spot with the Magic when he's eventually recalled.

  • Magic's Stephen Zimmerman: Will suit up Friday

Zimmerman will suit up for Friday's game against the Pistons, John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reports.

Zimmerman was inactive for the Magic's season opener, but he will replace Arinze Onuaku on Friday's roster and suit up for the first time as an NBA player. While he will be in uniform, Zimmerman is hardly a lock to make his NBA debut Friday given the Magic's frontcourt depth.
