Waters logged 23 points (10-18 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 10 assists, four rebounds and three steals across 29 minutes during Thursday's 139-126 win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Waters logged his first double-double with South Bay on Thursday. The guard's upside will continue to increase, especially if Mac McClung and Darren Collison don't take the court, as was the case Thursday.

Waters tallied 26 points (10-17 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 10 assists, three rebounds, four steals and a blocked shot across 31 minutes Thursday in a loss to Maine. Waters' scoring output led Wisconsin in the loss and was his highest mark since he scored 31 points versus Grand Rapids on Dec. 3. He complemented the effort Thursday with 10 assists for his second straight double-double. Waters has registered double-digit points and at least seven assists in each of his past seven games.

  • Tremont Waters: Logs inefficient double-double

Waters finished Sunday's G League loss to Fort Wayne with 16 points (5-18 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 10 assists, three rebounds and four steals across 41 minutes. Waters struggled to find the bottom of the hoop -- especially from three-point range -- in the loss, but he did well as a playmaker to collect his third double-double for Wisconsin this season. The 24-year-old also tallied multiple thefts for the third straight contest and for the 15th time in 24 G League games. He is averaging 15.8 points, 6.2 dimes, 2.4 boards and 2.2 steals on the season.

  • Tremont Waters: Notches G League double-double

Waters totaled 11 points (4-12 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 0-2 FT), 10 assists, five rebounds and a steal over 37 minutes for Wisconsin in a loss to the Greensboro Swarm on Saturday. Waters didn't shoot particularly well in the loss, but he did just enough offensively and on the boards to register his first double-double since Wisconsin's opening game of the G League campaign. The 5-foot-10 guard has dished at least seven dimes in each of his past three games and is averaging 5.9 assists along with 15.2 points, 2.5 boards, 2.6 three-pointers and 2.1 steals on the season.

  • Tremont Waters: Scores 19 points in G League return

Waters tallied 19 points (7-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six assists and two rebounds over 30 minutes for Wisconsin in Wednesday's loss to Long Island. Waters played in three NBA games between Toronto and Washington in late December and early January, but he entered health and safety protocols Jan. 3 and subsequently saw his 10-day hardship contract expire. The 24-year-old thus returned to the G League, where he logged his first appearance with the Herd since mid-December. Waters led Wisconsin in scoring in the contest and figures to take on a prominent role with the G League squad unless he is summoned back to the NBA.

  • Tremont Waters: Contract lapses

The Wizards didn't re-sign Waters (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) after his 10-day contract expired Tuesday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Waters made one eight-minute appearance during the first two days of his 10-day deal before entering the protocols Jan. 3. He should receive full clearance to resume basketball activities soon, but since the Wizards have seemingly overcome a recent wave of COVID-19-related absences, the team isn't expected to receive a roster exemption that would allow it to keep Waters around. Expect Waters to head back to the G League's Wisconsin Herd.

The 5-foot-10 guard complemented the sharpshooting performance with six dimes while notching multiple steals for his fourth straight contest. He ranks fourth in the G League with 28 made three-pointers this season and is shooting 44.4 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Celtics' Tremont Waters: Pours in career-high 17 points

Waters totaled 17 points (7-13 FG, 3-8 3Pt), five rebounds, five assists and two steals in 25 minutes during Sunday's 96-92 loss to the Knicks. With the Celtics resting the majority of their primary roster, Waters came off the bench to score a career-high 17 points. That makes back-to-back games with double-digit points, something he has been unable to do throughout the course of his two seasons in the NBA. As with many of the players that saw action Sunday, Waters will shift back to his usual role Tuesday when the Celtics face the Wizards in the first round of the play-in tournament.

Waters recorded 14 points (4-8 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and seven assists across 22 minutes off the bench in Saturday's win over the Timberwolves. Waters saw an uptick in his minutes once again with Kemba Walker (neck) and Marcus Smart (calf) done for the regular season, and the former LSU standout took advantage of his chance to deliver season-high marks in both points and assists. Waters could see hefty minutes in the regular-season finale Sunday against the Knicks, but he shouldn't be a factor come playoff time, especially if Walker and Smart return to the court soon.
