Bamba finished with six points (3-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds and four blocks over 14 minutes during Wednesday's 124-114 loss to the Pelicans. Bamba hasn't had much of an opportunity to play this season, as he entered Wednesday with eight DNPs over the 76ers' past 11 games. However, Joel Embiid was a late scratch against New Orleans due to an illness, leading to Bamba playing a campaign-high 14 minutes. He fared well as a scorer and rebounder while he was on the court, but where he really shined was as a rim protector, racking up four blocked shots. When Embiid plays, Bamba is likely going to have a hard time getting substantial minutes, but there's a chance he could begin getting more run as a result of his impressive performance Wednesday.... 76ers' Mo Bamba: Inks deal with Philadelphia
The 76ers signed Bamba to a one-year deal Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Bamba will likely compete with Paul Reed and Dewayne Dedmon for the backup center job behind Joel Embiid in Philadelphia. While Bamba hasn't lived up to his draft status as the No. 6 pick in 2018, he can still provide quality rim protection and space the floor.... See More ... See Less -
Mo Bamba: Parting ways with Lakers
The Lakers waived Bamba on Thursday, Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reports. Bamba will look for his third team in six seasons after spending the first four years of his career with Orlando before being traded to the Lakers midway through 2022-23. In nine appearances for Los Angeles, Bamba averaged 3.7 points and 4.6 rebounds in 9.8 minutes. While the 2018 No. 6 pick's career hasn't exactly panned out, teams could offer him a cheap contract in free agency to fill a backup center role.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Available Monday
Bamba (ankle) is no longer listed on the Lakers' injury report, so he should be good to go for Game 4 against Denver on Monday. After missing nine consecutive games due to injury, Bamba will be available for Monday's must-win game versus the Nuggets. Despite looking on track to play, it remains to be seen whether the big man will make his way into the rotation, especially considering his limited play over the last month and the magnitude of this game. Bamba will likely serve as a rotational piece to match up with Nikola Jokic if he does see time.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Expected to be available for Game 4
Head coach Darvin Ham said Sunday that Bamba (ankle) is expected to be available for Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals against the Nuggets on Monday, Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reports. Bamba has missed nine consecutive playoff contests due to left ankle soreness, and while it appears he'll be available for the must-win Game 4, it remains unclear how involved the big man will be in the postseason rotation. He didn't see any action in the first five matchups of the opening-round series versus Memphis but tallied three rebounds, one assist and one block in nine minutes during garbage time of Game 6. Bamba figures to be another body to throw at Nikola Jokic, but the two-time MVP has had the right answer to every adjustment made against him this postseason.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: May be cleared as soon as Game 4
Bamba (ankle) is expected to be able to return to action as soon as Game 4 or Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals versus the Nuggets, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. After missing nine consecutive games with left ankle soreness, Bamba is nearing a return to the hardwood and could see action in Game 4 on Monday. The big man's absence has been felt throughout the series' first two games, as the Lakers have struggled to deal with Nikola Jokic on the interior and find themselves down 0-2. However, with the Lakers currently running an eight-man rotation, it's unclear how large of a role, if any, Bamba will play once available.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Won't play in Game 3
Bamba (ankle) is out for Saturday's Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals versus Denver, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Bamba's absence streak will extend to nine games due to a left ankle injury. His next chance to suit up is Monday's Game 4 against the Nuggets.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Remains out Thursday
Bamba (ankle) won't play in Thursday's Game 2 versus the Nuggets, Harrison Faigen of SBNation.com reports. Bamba is set to miss his eighth straight game Thursday while recovering from a PRP injection in his left ankle. His absence won't affect the Lakers' rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Officially out for Game 1
Bamba (ankle) has been ruled out for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals in Denver, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Bamba, who's recovering from a PRP injection in his ankle, is set to be evaluated Tuesday in Los Angeles, so if he gets some positive news, the backup big man could be available later in the series. However, even if he's cleared, he's not guaranteed a spot in the Lakers' postseason rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Unlikely to play in Game 1 of WCF
Bamba (ankle) didn't practice Monday and will be listed as doubtful for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals in Denver on Tuesday, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports. Bamba is still in Los Angeles after getting a PRP injection in his ankle earlier this postseason. He has a follow-up appointment Tuesday and will rejoin the team afterward. Even if Bamba is cleared to suit up at some point in the series, it's unclear if he'll be part of the Lakers' rotation versus Denver.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Ruled out Friday
Bamba (ankle) has been ruled out for Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals versus the Warriors on Friday, according to Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com. Bamba has yet to see the floor in this series, and he likely wasn't going to play in Game 6 even if he received the green light with Anthony Davis seemingly doing fine after getting hit in the head in Game 5.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Uncertain for Game 6
Bamba (ankle) is questionable for Friday's Game 6 versus the Warriors, Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports. Bamba has missed all five games of the Western Conference Semifinals due to left ankle soreness and is at risk of also missing Game 6. Though he has a chance to return, Bamba may be outside of the Lakers' condensed playoff rotation when healthy.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Ruled out for Game 5
Bamba (ankle) has been ruled out for Game 5 versus the Warriors on Wednesday. Bamba remains day-to-day, but he's not guaranteed a rotation spot whenever he gets the green light to return from his injury.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Listed as questionable
Bamba (ankle) is listed as questionable for Game 5 against the Warriors on Wednesday, according to Harrison Faigen of SBNation.com. Bamba hasn't made an appearance in this series and may not see the floor even if he gets the green light from his injury.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Unavailable Monday
Bamba (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's Game 4 against Golden State, Harrison Faigen of SBNation.com reports. Bamba has yet to play in the series due to a left ankle injury. His next chance to return will arrive Wednesday in Game 5.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Status in question Monday
Bamba (ankle) is questionable for Game 4 against the Warriors on Monday. Bamba has missed six of the Lakers' last seven games with a lingering ankle injury and has only seen nine minutes of action throughout the postseason. Even if he is able to go in Game 4, he doesn't figure to get much run.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Out again Saturday
Bamba (ankle) won't play in Saturday's Game 3 against the Warriors, Shane Young of Forbes.com reports. Bamba will miss a third straight game due to left ankle soreness. Considering he appeared in just one of the Lakers' first seven playoff games, his absence should have minimal impact on the team's rotation. Bamba's next chance to play will come Monday for Game 4.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Gets questionable tag
Bamba (ankle) is questionable for Game 3 versus the Warriors on Saturday. Bamba last played on April 28 and has a total of 11 minutes in the playoffs so far. If he gets the green light, he still might not see the floor.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Ruled out for Game 2
Bamba (ankle) will not play in Game 2 Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Warriors on Thursday, according to Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com. Bamba remains day-to-day for the Lakers, but he is not guaranteed a spot in the playoff rotation once he gets the green light.... See More ... See Less -
Lakers' Mo Bamba: Status uncertain Thursday
Bamba (ankle) is questionable for Thursday's Game 2 versus the Warriors, Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times reports. Bamba could miss his second straight game Thursday due to left ankle soreness. However, he played only nine total minutes in the Lakers' first-round matchup with the Grizzlies. Especially considering Golden State likes to go small when Kevon Looney heads to the bench, it seems unlikely Bamba would receive significant minutes even if he's upgraded to available....
