  • Magic's Jett Howard: Erupts for 22 points

Howard scored 22 points (8-17 FG, 4-8 3PT, 2-3 FT) to go along with three rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block over 35 minutes of Wednesday's 82-80 loss to the Knicks in Summer League.

After struggling to score in his first two Summer League appearances, Howard finally found his shooting stroke and led Orlando in the scoring column. The sharpshooter buried four of his eight attempts from beyond the arc and was trusted with clutch shots at the end of regulation and overtime. Howard will continue to be a top option for the Magic alongside Anthony Black for the rest of Summer League.

  • Magic's Jett Howard: Leads team in assists

Howard recorded 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt), five assists, two rebounds and one block in 27 minutes during Monday's 108-85 Summer League loss to the Pacers.

Howard tallied a team-high five assists Monday and posted only two turnovers. The rookie forward's best trait coming out of Michigan was his outside shooting, so it is encouraging to bounce back after struggling with his shot in his Summer League debut.

  • Magic's Jett Howard: Struggles with shot

Howard submitted eight points (3-13 FG, 2-7 3PT), four assists, three rebounds and three steals over 29 minutes of Saturday's 89-78 loss to the Pistons in Summer League.

Howard got off to a red-hot start Saturday, burying back-to-back triples mid-way through the first quarter but connected on just one field goal the rest of the game. However, he managed to make an impact elsewhere, dishing out four assists and corralling three steals in 29 minutes of play. Despite his solid peripheral production, the Magic were outscored by 15 points while Howard was on the floor.

  • Magic's Jett Howard: Selected No. 11 by Orlando

Howard was selected by the Magic with the 11th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Howard is the son of NBA All-Star Juwan Howard, who coached him at Michigan. Howard is a high-level shooter, converting 36.8 percent of his three-point attempts in 2022-23. He offers good size at 6-foot-8, though he will need to improve defensively so opposing teams don't play him off the floor. He joins an Orlando wing rotation that includes Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero, so playing time won't come easy for the rookie. Orlando also selected Arkansas guard Anthony Black with the No. 6 overall pick Thursday.
