  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Will play Wednesday

Garland (illness) will play Wednesday against the Bulls, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Garland will shake off a questionable tag and suit up despite being a late addition to the injury report with an illness. Given he's under the weather, Garland may be limited versus Indiana, so daily fantasy players should proceed with caution. After a slow start following a lengthy injury absence, Garland submitted 21 points and nine assists in 31 minutes during a two-point loss to Philadelphia on Monday. Those were his best marks in those categories since December.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Questionable for Wednesday

Garland is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Bulls due to illness. Garland is a late addition to the injury report, which is never a good sign. This is tough luck for the guard, as he was just starting to find his rhythm with 21 points and nine assists against the 76ers on Monday. If he's unable to play, the Cavaliers could turn to Caris LeVert and Craig Porter.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Beginning to emerge

Garland compiled 21 points (9-16 FG, 3-8 3Pt), nine assists and one steal across 31 minutes during Monday's 123-121 loss to the 76ers. Garland posted his first game with 20-plus points across eight appearances since returning from a broken jaw. He entered Monday's contest limping to 25.0 percent shooting from beyond the arc on 4.0 threes per game over that span, so perhaps his performance will snap his funk from deep.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Quiet in 28 minutes

Garland provided 11 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds and five assists across 28 minutes during Monday's 136-110 win over the Kings. The good news for Garland's fantasy managers is that this was his largest workload since Dec. 14, but the bad news is that his production hasn't been ideal. Since returning to the lineup on Jan. 31, Garland holds averages of 10.8 points, 4.8 assists, 1.8 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.3 three-pointers over his last four games.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Cleared for action

Garland (knee) will play Monday versus Sacramento. Garland was dealing with left knee soreness, but he will suit up for his fourth consecutive contest. He has averaged 10.7 points and 4.7 assists on 48.2 percent shooting in three games since returning from a broken jaw.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Questionable with knee soreness

Garland is questionable for Monday's game against the Kings with left knee soreness. Garland is dealing with a new injury, but the Cavaliers are seemingly viewing him as day-to-day. Since his return from a fractured jaw last Wednesday, Garland's minutes have been limited to between 20 and 24 minutes over his three appearances. Given that he's now tending to a knee issue, Garland's playing time will most likely be capped to some extent Monday, if he's able to play.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Still on minutes restriction

Garland will be limited to 20-to-24 minutes Saturday at San Antonio, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. After seeing 20 minutes in his first game back from a lengthy absence, Garland's workload jumped to 24 minutes Wednesday. However, he'll remain in the 20-to-24 minute range against the Spurs.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Scores 19 points in return

Garland (jaw) closed with 19 points (7-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three assists and two steals in 20 minutes during Wednesday's 128-121 win over the Pistons. After missing the past six weeks with a fractured jaw, Garland made his return to action Wednesday but was under a restriction following a 19-game absence. Though a lower-than-usual assist count and a lack of rebounds resulted in a rather underwhelming line for Garland, he at least provided efficient scoring during his time on the court. Garland sat out the final 7:30 of the win after reaching his minute restriction, but he's expected to be available Thursday in Memphis for the second leg of the back-to-back set, per Evan Dammarell of FearTheSword.com. However, Garland is likely to face a minute restriction once again Thursday.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Starting Wednesday

Garland (jaw) will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's matchup with the Pistons. Garland is back after spending 19 games on the sidelines, and his return to the first unit will result in Isaac Okoro heading back to the bench. Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said that Garland will be limited to 20-24 minutes Wednesday night, so he's not the best target in daily fantasy leagues. However, he's safe to activate in all season-long formats.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Present at shootaround

Garland (jaw), who is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Pistons, was present for the Cavaliers' morning shootaround, Evan Dammarell of FearTheSword.com reports. Garland recently said he planned to return to action Wednesday against Detroit, so his presence at shootaround in a starter's practice jersey wasn't surprising. He's missed the last 19 games due to his jaw injury and wasn't able to do strenuous physical activity before it fully healed, so he'll likely face a minutes restriction if he's officially cleared to suit up.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Aiming for return Wednesday

Garland (jaw) plans to return Wednesday against the Pistons, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. He's officially listed as questionable. Garland hasn't played since Dec. 14 and missed a 19th straight game Monday versus the Clippers, but coach J.B. Bickerstaff said prior to the contest that the point guard was "extremely close" to suiting up again. He wasn't able to do anything physically strenuous before his jaw fully healed, so it's safe to presume Garland will have his minutes monitored closely if he's cleared to play Wednesday. Evan Mobley (knee) made his return from a 22-game absence Monday, so the Cavaliers are nearing full strength with the Feb. 8 trade deadline looming.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Will remain out Monday

Garland (jaw) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Clippers. Garland will miss a 19th straight game. He was cleared for basketball activities in mid-January, but he needed extra time to regain his conditioning, as he wasn't allowed to do anything physically strenuous after breaking his jaw. Garland's next chance to suit up will come Wednesday versus the Pistons, but he can be considered doubtful for that contest, barring a return to practice over the next couple of days.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Out for four-game road trip

Coach J.B. Bickerstaff said Friday that Garland (jaw) won't travel with the Cavaliers on their upcoming four-game road trip that begins Saturday in Atlanta, Evan Dammarell of FearTheSword.com reports. Garland was cleared for basketball activities earlier this week, but he'll likely miss at least four more games while ramping up his conditioning in Cleveland. Unless Garland joins the team on the road trip later, his next chance to suit up will come Jan. 29 versus the Clippers. Garland hasn't played since Dec. 14 while recovering from a fractured jaw that prevented him from doing anything physically strenuous, so it's not surprising Garland needs a couple of weeks to get back in shape before returning to game action.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Cleared for basketball activities

Garland (jaw) was cleared Monday to resume basketball-related activities, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Out since Dec. 15 while recovering from a fractured jaw that prevented him from doing any kind of physical exertion, Garland took the first major step forward in his recovery Monday, when doctors removed the wiring from his mouth and gave him the green light for on-court work. Garland was spotted warming up for about 20 minutes with his teammates prior to the Cavaliers' 109-91 win over the Bulls on Monday, and he's gradually expected to increase the intensity of his workouts in the days to come before being cleared for game action. According to Fedor, Garland is likely to need about a week to get back into playing shape after the extended absence, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect the point guard to make his return to the lineup until the latter half of the Cavaliers' upcoming four-game road trip. The Cavaliers will begin the road swing Saturday in Atlanta before facing the Magic next Monday and the Bucks in Milwaukee on Jan. 24 and 26.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Still out

Garland (jaw) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Bulls. Garland will miss a 13th straight game due to a broken jaw. His next chance to suit up will come Wednesday versus Milwaukee, but barring a return to practice, Garland can be considered doubtful for that contest.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Remains out Sunday

Garland (jaw) won't play in Sunday's game versus the Spurs. Garland hasn't played since Dec. 14 due to a fractured right jaw he suffered against the Celtics. Isaac Okoro, Sam Merrill and Dean Wade should continue to receive extended minutes in his absence. Garland will have extra time to recover ahead of Thursday's matchup with Brooklyn.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Out multiple weeks with broken jaw

Garland was diagnosed with a fractured jaw Friday and is expected to miss multiple weeks, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Garland collided with Kristaps Porzingis (calf/rest) during Thursday's loss to Boston but finished the contest with 19 points (8-19 FG) in 36 minutes. Garland missed a four-game stretch early in the season due to a neck injury but had been healthy since, averaging 21.0 points, 5.9 assists and 1.6 steals over his last 19 appearances. In Garland's absence, Donovan Mitchell will presumably operate as the No. 1 offensive option whenever he's on the court, but Caris LeVert, Max Strus, Isaac Okoro and Craig Porter are all candidates for increased roles until Garland is cleared to return.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Drops 36 points in loss

Garland posted 36 points (11-23 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 11-12 FT), six rebounds, five assists and two steals in 39 minutes during Monday's 104-94 loss to Orlando. Garland's 36 points mark a new season best, and this was the second time he crossed the 30-point mark. He's been a little disappointing compared to last season, mostly due to some spotty shooting from beyond the arc. He's averaging 1.6 triples on 32.6 percent shooting from deep, but in 2022-23, he averaged 2.4 three-pointers on a 41.0 percent clip.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Pickpocket in win

Garland recorded 18 points (6-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-7 FT), two rebounds, six assists and four steals in 26 minutes during Friday's 111-99 victory over Miami. Garland led the team with four steals and was the second leading scorer for the Cavaliers behind Donovan Mitchell (27 points). Garland entered Friday's game averaging 19.7 points per game and has scored 18-plus points in five of his last six games. His 26 minutes were his frewest since Nov. 25, but before Friday's contest, he had played at least 34 minutes in five straight games.

  • Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Flirts with double-double

Garland posted 26 points (10-18 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds and nine assists in 40 minutes during Wednesday's 121-111 victory over the Magic. During Wednesday's victory, Garland overcame a slow start to finish just one assist short of a double-double. He also avoided turning the ball over, a welcome sight following his eight-turnover effort only a week ago. He has at least seven assists in four of the past five games, rounding into form after a modest start to the season.
