  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Steps up in starting lineup

Jaquez notched 16 points (8-16 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four rebounds, four assists and one steal in 36 minutes during Sunday's 114-94 loss to Boston in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Jaquez once again stepped up for Miami while earning another starting nod in place of the injured Jimmy Butler (knee), handing out a team-high-tying assist total while ending as one of three Heat players with 15 or more points. Jaquez started in 20 games during the regular season, posting 15 or more points in 12 of those starts.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Shines in starting role

Jaquez posted 21 points (8-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds and six assists across 35 minutes during Friday's 112-91 Play-In Game win over the Bulls. Jaquez had big shoes to fill, as he entered the starting lineup in place of Jimmy Butler (knee), but he didn't disappoint. Friday marked his second time over the last four games scoring 20 or more points, and he did so efficiently. Jaquez also packed the stat sheet with an impressive effort on the glass and as a distributor. Butler is expected to miss multiple weeks, so the Heat will need to lean on the rookie forward entering the team's opening-round series against Boston.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Joins starting five

Jaquez is starting Friday's Play-In Game against the Bulls. Jaquez will take the place of Jimmy Butler, who is expected to miss several weeks with an MCL sprain. While Butler is surely a big loss for the Heat, Jaquez has shown that he can produce while playing with the first unit, scoring in double figures in 16 of 20 starts during the regular season.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Shines off bench in Sunday win

Jaquez racked up 18 points (6-12 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 6-7 FT), four rebounds, five assists, two blocks and one steal over 32 minutes during Sunday's 118-103 win over Toronto. Jaquez thrived in a starting role earlier this season, and while he had some problems adjusting to a bench role as the campaign progressed, there's no question the rookie out of UCLA was one of the league's best first-year players while also ending the season on a strong note. Jaquez should see decent minutes off the bench when the Heat take on the 76ers in the Play-In Tournament on Wednesday.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Offers little in spot start

Jaquez totaled 12 points (4-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two rebounds and one assist across 26 minutes during Tuesday's 113-92 loss to the Warriors. Jaquez returned from a knee injury, sliding into the starting lineup after Jimmy Butler was ruled out due to an illness. Despite the promotion, Jaquez failed to reach great heights, something that has become commonplace over the past few weeks. At best, managers should view him as a viable streaming consideration, if and when the schedule dictates.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Set to start Tuesday

Jaquez (knee) is available and will start Tuesday's game versus the Warriors, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Jaquez has been upgraded from questionable to available despite dealing with left knee soreness and will replace Jimmy Butler (illness) in the starting lineup. Jaquez is averaging 15.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.2 steals in 33.6 minutes across his previous 10 starts this season.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Officially out Sunday

Jaquez is out Sunday versus Cleveland due to left knee and ankle discomfort, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reports. With Jimmy Butler returning from a two-game absence to play in both of the Heat's last two contests, Jaquez has recently moved back to the bench, logging 31- and 14-minute workloads in a win over the Cavaliers on Wednesday and a loss to the Pelicans on Friday. The injury might have had something to do with Jaquez's lighter minutes count versus the Pelicans, and he'll now be forced to the sideline for the first time since Jan. 25. Consider Jaquez day-to-day ahead of the Heat's next game Tuesday versus the Warriors.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Solid showing in spot start

Jaquez amassed 15 points (6-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 35 minutes during Sunday's 104-101 win over Detroit. With Jimmy Butler (foot) sidelined, Jaquez got his first start since Feb. 26 and turned in a solid performance. The rookie forward hasn't been consistent of late -- he scored 16 total points over the prior three games combined -- but he's maintained a significant role in the Miami rotation. Over 12 games since the All-Star break, Jaquez is averaging 11.3 points, 4.3 boards, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.8 threes in 29.2 minutes a contest while shooting 50.5 percent from the floor.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Gets starting nod Sunday

Jaquez will start Sunday's game against the Pistons. With Jimmy Butler (foot) and Nikola Jovic (hamstring) sidelined, Jaquez and Haywood Highsmith will join the starting lineup. As a starter this season (17 games), Jaquez has averaged 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 steals in 32.9 minutes per game.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Solid output off bench Friday

Jaquez recorded 25 points (10-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), three rebounds, three assists and three steals in 31 minutes during Friday's 107-100 loss to the Thunder. Jaquez has found ways to produce both as a starter and off the bench, and he's been thriving in that latter role in recent weeks. He's scored in double digits in each of his last four outings with the second unit, and this 25-point performance was his best scoring performance when coming off the bench this season. Jaquez is averaging 11.7 points per game on the campaign when deployed with the second unit.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Pours in 26 points in starting role

Jaquez supplied 26 points (12-17 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and three steals across 38 minutes during Monday's 121-110 victory over the Kings. Jaquez helped the Heat win a fourth straight game on a night when most of the starters were out. Jaquez aptly filled in for Jimmy Butler (suspension) with his second-best scoring total of the season. Although Jaquez was routinely posting strong numbers before a seven-game absence in January, his demotion to the second unit has hurt his bottom line, Unless Miami's injury concerns become a more consistent problem, nights like these will likely be a rarity for the rookie.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Low minutes continue

Jaquez totaled 12 points (4-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, two assists and three steals across 23 minutes during Tuesday's 121-95 win over the Magic. Miami is mostly healthy these days, and with Terry Rozier in town, Jaquez has seen his minutes trend in the wrong direction. Over his past seven games, the rookie played 23.3 minutes per contest to go with averages of 8.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 turnovers.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Coming off bench Saturday

Jaquez (groin) will play but will come off the bench in Saturday's game versus the Knicks, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports. Jaquez will make his return following a six-game absence due to a groin injury. The rookie forward is averaging 14.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.0 steals in 33.4 minutes across his last five appearances coming off the bench.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Slated to return Saturday

Jaquez (groin) is available for Saturday's game against the Knicks. Jaquez missed six straight games due to a left groin strain but will return to action Saturday. He was a regular starter before his absence, averaging 16.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals while starting 11 of his past 12 appearances. However, it's unclear if he'll reclaim a starting spot upon his return, as the Heat are back to full strength and added Terry Rozier to the mix since Jaquez last played.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Missing two-game road trip

Jaquez (groin), who has been ruled out for Monday's game in Brooklyn, didn't travel with the team on its road trip and will remain sidelined through Wednesday's contest in Toronto, ESPN.com reports. Jaquez will stay behind in Miami to receive further evaluation after he exited early in the second quarter of Sunday's 104-87 win over the Hornets due to a left groin strain. The rookie first-round pick was on his way to another strong outing prior to departing, finishing the day with 15 points (7-11 FG, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 15 minutes. Head coach Erik Spoelstra said after Sunday's win that Jaquez was being viewed as day-to-day, so the 22-year-old could conceivably be ready to play Friday versus Atlanta after the team returns from its two-game road trip.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Won't return Sunday

Jaquez has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Hornets due to a left groin strain, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reports. Jaquez was part of the starting lineup Sunday for the 11th time in the last 12 matchups, but he was ruled out for the remainder of the game shortly after halftime. He tallied 15 points (7-11 FG, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, two assists and a steal in 15 minutes before leaving the game, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be available Monday against the Nets.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Strong showing Friday

Jaquez finished Friday's 99-96 victory over Orlando with 19 points (8-16 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and one steal across 37 minutes. Jaquez has been trusted with a larger offensive role due to the absence of Jimmy Butler (calf) and others. The former UCLA standout has fared well with increased usage, averaging 15.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game since the start of January.
