The Pistons announced Thursday that Stewart (hip) is dealing with a left shoulder impingement and will be sidelined for the next 3-to-4 weeks before being re-evaluated, Mike Curtis of The Detroit News reports.
Stewart had missed the Pistons' last six games with what the team had labeled as a sore left hip, but the shoulder injury is likely a lingering concern connected to the one that cost him four games in January. Given that the Pistons aren't in the playoff picture and his projected 3-to-4-week re-evaluation period would arrive with 1-to-2 weeks left in the season, Stewart's 2022-23 campaign has most likely come to a close. Even if Stewart does stage a late return, fantasy managers in redraft formats can probably feel comfortable with cutting him loose in favor of a healthy player. Stewart's absence the rest of the way likely clears out the power forward spot for Marvin Bagley, Isaiah Livers and Eugene Omoruyi, while Jalen Duren (ankle) and James Wiseman should handle most of the minutes at center.

Stewart recorded five points, nine rebounds, one block and one assist in 19 minutes before leaving Saturday's game versus the Raptors. Marvin Bagley will likely see increased minutes in his absence. Stewart's status for Monday's matchup with Charlotte is uncertain.
Stewart finished Sunday's 119-118 loss to the Raptors with 16 points (5-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), three rebounds and one assist in 38 minutes.
Though he served as the starting power forward alongside Jalen Duren, Stewart ended up seeing some elevated playing time due to being the Pistons' only available center at one point in the contest when Duren headed to the locker room to have an ankle injury evaluated. Duren was able to return to the contest and should be good to go moving forward, while the Pistons could have new trade acquisition James Wiseman as well as Nerlens Noel (personal) available in their next game Wednesday against the Celtics to add further depth at center. As a result, Stewart's path to playing time at center looks to be fairly muddled moving forward, and he may have to settle for minutes in the upper 20s and low 30s as the Pistons' starting power forward since head coach Dwane Casey still wants to find work for second-year reserve forward Isaiah Livers.
