The Pelicans transferred Seabron to the NBA club from the G League's Birmingham Squadron on Monday, Erin Summers of Bally Sports New Orleans reports. The Squadron failed to make the G League playoffs, but Seabron, E.J. Liddell and Malcolm Hill will continue their 2023-24 campaign with the NBA club. Seabron hasn't appeared in an NBA game since Feb. 27 and has made just six appearances for the Pelicans all season.... See More ... See Less

Pelicans' Dereon Seabron: Transferred to NBA
The Pelicans transferred Seabron from the G League's Birmingham Squadron to the NBA team Saturday. Seabron hasn't made an NBA appearance since Nov. 14. As a two-way player, Seabron is able to split his time between the NBA and G League.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Dereon Seabron: Not on injury report
Seabron (undisclosed) isn't on the injury report for Tuesday's game against the Grizzlies. Seabron had been sidelined for an undisclosed reason in the G League recently, but he was transferred to the parent club Monday and will likely be able to suit up Tuesday. However, it seems unlikely that he'll be a significant part of the Pelicans' rotation.... See More ... See Less -

Pelicans' Dereon Seabron: Transferred to NBA club
The Pelicans transferred Seabron to the NBA club from the G League's Birmingham Squadron on Saturday. Seabron hasn't appeared in an NBA contest since Nov. 14. He's made five appearances for the Pelicans this season, averaging 2.8 points and 1.4 rebounds in 10.4 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Dereon Seabron: Leads bench unit
Seabron recorded 13 points (5-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-8 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 16 minutes during Tuesday's 122-105 preseason loss to Orlando. Despite poor free-throw shooting, Seabron paced the Pelicans' bench in scoring during the preseason opener. Seabron and Dyson Daniels both showed out for New Orleans during Summer League and were strong contributors versus the Magic. However, Daniels likely has a better chance of carving out a rotational role than Seabron, who'll presumably split time between the NBA and G League while operating under a two-way deal in 2023-24.... Pelicans' Dereon Seabron: Shoots efficiently
Seabron logged 20 points (9-13 FG, 2-6 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 28 minutes during Thursday's 89-83 Summer League win over Charlotte. Apart from Dyson Daniels, Seabron has arguably been the second most impressive player on the roster. In his previous three contests, Seabron put up 15.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists. He'll be playing on a two-way contract with the Pelicans and is likely to be a standout in the G League.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Dereon Seabron: Goes for 25 points
Seabron posted 25 points (8-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 9-13 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and a steal across 28 minutes during Sunday's 94-86 victory over Golden State. Seabron was impressive getting to the basket and using his craftiness to draw fouls. He was also solid on the glass, grabbing seven boards. The 23-year-old was featured in just five NBA games last year, so it's unlikely he finds his way into the rotation during the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Dereon Seabron: Inks two-way deal with New Orleans
The Pelicans signed Seabron to a two-way deal Sunday, and he'll be available for New Orleans' regular-season finale against Minnesota, Will Guillory of The Athletic reprots. Pelicans' Dereon Seabron: Leads team with 29 points
Seabron had 29 points (12-19 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), a rebound and three assists across 43 minutes in Sunday's loss to Mexico City. Seabron had one of his best scoring performances of the season, but his efforts were not enough, and the Squadron suffered another loss. Birmingham has struggled most of the season, but Seabron has provided a spark on offense and proved he can play well at this level after a decorated college career at NC State.... See More ... The former NC State star has been massive for the Squadron this season and has now scored at least 20 points in three of his last four appearances. He's averaging 18.5 points per game across 21 outings this season.... See More ... See Less -

Pelicans' Dereon Seabron: Transferred to parent club
The Pelicans transferred Seabron to the NBA club from the G League's Birmingham Squadron on Monday. Seabron continues to light it up in the G League, scoring at least 20 points in four of his last seven outings, and will get another stint with the NBA club. However, he's made only four appearances with the Pelicans and hasn't played more than three minutes in any of those contests, so he's not expected to be a factor in Monday's matchup against the Thunder.... Seabron has now scored at least 20 points in four of his last six G League outings.... See More ... See Less -
Pelicans' Dereon Seabron: Returns to G League
Seabron was assigned to the Birmingham Squadron on Tuesday. Seabron was called up Sunday to fill a depth role with Brandon Ingram (toe) and CJ McCollum (thumb) absent but will return to the G League on Tuesday. Will Guillory@WillGuillory1D agoFinal: Thunder 124, Pelicans 92 Valanciunas 19 ts, 7 rebs Ingram 18 pts Jones 18 pts Pelicans get crushed to fall behind 0-2 in the series. Everything that could go wrong did in this one. Offense was bad, defense was worse. Pels gotta pick up the pieces or a sweep is on the way

Oleh Kosel 🇺🇦@OlehKosel1D agoThe Pelicans fall 124-92. No positives worth highlighting after watching team commit 8 offensive fouls (18 turnovers overall) and let go of the rope defensively in 2nd half. The Thunder lead this first round playoff series 2-0. Next two games will take place in New Orleans.
-
Jim Eichenhofer@Jim_Eichenhofer1D agoAt this point it would be more productive to just not set any screens for the rest of the game. #Pelicans TV just said New Orleans has nine offensive fouls in Game 2. Can't believe Pels have ever had more

Will Guillory@WillGuillory1D agoLarry Nance came up limping after that last play. Looked like it was either his right knee or his right ankle bothering him. He's headed to the locker room. One of the last guys the Pelicans can afford to lose in this series.

Oleh Kosel 🇺🇦@OlehKosel1D agoLarry Nance Jr. consistently setting screens while his hands are above his head in this quarter is wild, but with the Pelicans picking up 1,632 offensive fouls earlier, what else was he supposed to do?
-
Oleh Kosel 🇺🇦@OlehKosel1D agoGotta give Brandon Ingram some credit for attacking the rim/lane hard, blocking Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's lay-in attempt and just playing with generally greater purpose out of halftime. Pelicans have trimmed 23-point deficit to 15 with 3:30 left in 3rd QTR.
