Thompson temporarily went down with an injury while making his sixth tackle of the game in the second quarter. However, he wound up missing just one defensive snap due to this issue, thus extending his every-down role across all 16 games he's played this season. Thompson has also totaled 21 tackles over the past two weeks, and he's now eclipsed more than 100 tackles for the second season in a row.

Thompson tied cornerback Trayvon Mullen and linebacker Isaiah Simmons for a team high in tackles Week 14. The safety also continued to play an every-down role in this disastrous game for Arizona, as starting quarterback Kyler Murray went down with a season-ending torn ACL early in the first quarter. Thompson posted six tackles and a pass defense during Sunday's 31-21 loss to the Seahawks.
Thompson has missed just two defensive plays through nine games this season, one in Week 2 at Las Vegas and the other this past Sunday. He ranks second in snap share on the Cardinals behind cornerback Byron Murphy, but Thompson sits third in tackles with 57 behind fellow safety Budda Baker (71) and inside linebacker Zaven Collins (61). Because Baker is slated to miss a few weeks with a high-ankle sprain, Thompson has an opportunity to increase his tackle tallies in the short term.

Thompson notched six tackles during Sunday's 34-26 loss at Minnesota.
Prior to the Cardinals' last two games, Thompson has had practice limitations due to a hamstring issue, but he was able to suit up on both occasions. With 51 tackles on the season, he's among three of the team's defensive players (also, Budda Baker and Zaven Collins) with at least 50 through eight games, putting him on pace to reach the century mark for the second year in a row. Thompson will aim to keep it up Sunday versus the Seahawks, against whom he had seven tackles back in Week 6.

Thompson opened the week with a DNP on Wednesday due to a calf issue, after he played every defensive snap against the Saints in Week 7.
